Shawn M
Im researching the color scheme for my next zero build (70s issue Hasegawa) and Im finding a few images, but no details. The aircraft is all green on top with orange under sides replacing the standard grey areas. Any info, images, etc would be really helpful. Thanks! big matt
Shawn, the info I have on a scheme like that is for an A6M2 Model 21 #341H-81 401st Sentai 341st Kokutai Clark Field, Manila in early 1944. I am sure others will have more data but that is from a book I have had since I was a kid. Matt
Shawn M
thanks Matt! I have found the scheme was used by the Kokutai squadrons which from I can understand were training units? I've found some "images" of the scheme on A6M5s and A6M2s, I have no idea which is accurate. Did your book have images and if so any chance you could scan it for me? Shawn M
For the Zero or this specific scheme? The scheme is about as basic as you can get. I just looked and under 1/32 scale there is no listing for a Zero.
big matt
Shawn, The book I found the image in is "Aircraft of World War II, 600 Full Color Drawings" by Bill Gunston. I have had it since the 70's and it is still pretty cool as far as profiles go. The book has no photographs so this is all I've got. Pretty cool paintjob. Wish I could find a photo to back it up.
