thierry laurent Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Nice project! Actually I considered building the same scheme before deciding to make an early Soviet one. The LEM kit at least exists but has some big drawbacks. Besides the weird nose dimensions, a quite annoying issue is the fact the belly bumps are not symmetrical (at the level of the main LG bays). This complicates noticeably the possibility to get a correct landing gear and wing tip height stance from the front. Alas, this is one of the main reasons why I put my kit aside. To be fair, I did not find any reasonable approach to solve that for years. I went back to the kit recently and finally considered one possible solution: building the front LG as well as one main LG leg. Then, secure the kit with a jig in the correct stance with the two existing legs touching the ground. And finally, build the other MLG leg in the bay to ensure it correctly touches the ground. I don't think this will solve the MLG lack of symmetry from the front but at least the plane itself would look correct and the issue would be far less obvious. Thierry dutik and Martinnfb 2
