  1. Yesterday I received such a marvel from the company "Fly", so quickly took photos of what is inside the box. So it flies in for a quick test workshop. The "Fly" company has released the Breguat in three boxes, but I will try to write more about them later. My model will be in Polish painting. And this is what it looks like ready with the decals for all three boxes. Thank you to the company 'Fly' for the model received for review.
  2. I have to brag because I still have a brand new 1:32 scale SAAB J 29 B "Tunnan" from FLY 32023. FLY has released "Tunnan" in B and F versions and I managed to get both of them and both will be shown here. For this model FLY has also released masks to paint cabins (artm32011) and wheels (artm32014) which I also have. This is a quick in-box of the kit. I will do rest of in-boox pictures as soon as I have some time.
  3. …FLY 1/32 SAAB J29 TUNNAN It’s one of the most anticipated kits for many modellers, I for one. But since its release last February, I’ve never heard anything about it except for an introductory post from @Kriss. No review, no build-up, no nothing on the internet. Does anybody know ? Cheers, Quang
  4. I have to brag because I have still new from FLY 32022 - SAAB J 29 F "Tunnan" in 1:32 scale.
  5. My plan is to crank this out by November then start something really big. The Fa330 always interested me as a unique aircraft with an equally unique mission. This was towed by a U-Boat so the pilot could see beyond U-Boat horizon view and report any enemy activity. I also walk by an actual Fa330 a few times a week. Finally there is a lot of rigging and I will use either RB or GasPatch turnbuckles. This will get me feeling comfortable for my WNW build, next on the bench. That's right Kiwi Mike...no typo here. 30 minutes into this build I was already regretting this. This aircraft is mostly tubular and the parts are typical short run injection. Loads of flash and seams. Cleaning these tubes are going to drive me batty. So I will cut all remaining tubular parts from .5mm, .4mm and .3mm styrene rod. This will actually be easier than cutting from sprue and cleaning. Building balsa wood and tissue models experience will come in handy. Resin main control pully wheel (feel free to correct me on correct definition) and control stick installed with epoxy. I also wrapped the control stick handle with .2mm lead wire. A brush coat of paint will give the handle a ribbed appearance. Spar and 4 sub control pully wheels are cut from styrene. More fun with .5mm and .4mm styrene rods. The rudder gets a .4mm rod on both sides and will be sanded down and this was fabric. Will also add grab handle I cut out at top of rudder.
  6. Hello modeller friends, FLY Models caused quite a stir when they released their 1/32 Hurricane in April 2016. By a general consensus on the modelling forums, it's the best Hurricane on the market: accurate shape, good dimensions, adequate surface detail and unbeatable bang for the buck, etc… One question remains: HOW DOES IT BUILD? Strangely there are but a very few WIP's (one on this very forum) on the internet for such a popular model. Furthermore they all stopped still after a few instalments. What happened? Is there a monster glitch out there waiting for the unwary modeller? I decided to find out and share my experience with you. Before starting up, let me tell you that I've never been interested in the Hurricane as a plane and that I've never built a Hurricane in all my modelling years. That is before a friend showed me the FLY kit he just bought . I was unexplainably drawn to the box and before long I was cutting up the sprues, dry-fitting the parts … and buying the kit back from my friend. So let the build begins. First, the box with the 'meh' painting... … and the all-important documentation, excellent references I got from another friend. Most of it sadly OOP: Next episode: Dry-fitting the parts Until then, Cheers, Quang
  7. If I was looking at doing a BoB mk1 Hurricane with no real subject knowledge, which kit would you recommend: PCM or the Fly kit?. Steve.
  8. Here is my latest build the 1/32 FLY Wessex. I've done this as an 80's bird that I had a few flights around the province back in the day. It's a good kit but lots of PE and the instructions are a bit vague. I added the bullet proof shields on the side of the cockpit and added wiring for the Nightsun lamp. I think it's crying out for the bird nest wiring for the underbelly hook but I chickened out. Ideally it should have the larger 72Sqn emblem on the tail but it's too new a kit yet for AM. I've got to add some EZ line on The starboard antennas but will wait for the Salisbury model show in June. Steve.
  9. Hello Guy's, I'm warming up for my next build, the HPH Cat can't take forever, right? This project is one of my favorite Luftwaffe aircraft, the Arado Ar 234 'Strahlflugzeug' Haven't quite decided on the subject yet, there are several interesting subjects that can be done from this kit... Aftermarket stuff: Got a nice book from Valiant Wings on the Arado, with a lot of details : "The Arado Ar 234 A Detailed Guide To The Luftwaffe's Jet Bomber" Extra decals from Fly Models, the night fighter version. I have also been 'harvesting' the necessary aftermarket parts for this build: Instrument panel from Yahu Models Laser seatbelts from HGW Paintmasks from New Ware & Pmask Late Luftwaffe paint set from HATAKA Late Luftwaffe Cockpits from MIG Air weathering set German Late Fighters - MIG AIMS Luftwaffe RB 50/30's for the camera bay. Jumo 004 engine sprues from Trumpeters Me 262. Photoetch sets: Me-262 engine PE set from AIMS Jumo 004 basket - Tinyland Service panel set - Tinyland Wheel blocks - Tinyland The plan is to display, at least one of the Jumo 004 engines open + detailing the camera bay of the Arado Ar 234. Can't wait to start this 'ordinary' build and get away from all the resin parts of the Cat... Cheers: Kent
  10. Fly Hurricane with Montex Masks. Plane flown by Bert Houle - Canadian Ace. Kit is unfortunately not a pleasant experience. I recommend it only to a Hurri fans.
  11. This is my first build over here. I'm building a Fly 1/32 Hurricane MkIIb in Russia during the winter. Here's my reference pic. I have the Miniart refueller kit in 1/35 to add a bit more to the dio and as per the photo. I started with the cockpit framework and encountered a fair bit of seamlines that took quite some effort to clean up. Took about an hour to get to the first stage. PE was added Then the resin seat And a few more bits of PE and we're ready for some paint
