  1. That would look good Tim, the Xtradecal sheet looks great value for money.
  2. Superb Tony. I am currently attempting to do the same with one of my F6 kits, how did you correct the wing leading edge please?
  3. There's also the 464 Squadron option (SB-V) - leave the D-Day stipes off and you have an Operation Jericho machine in the day fighter scheme. As you say, Tim, decisions.................................
  4. Tamiya XF71 is their equivalent of Humbrol 78 but neither are close to the colour in American cockpits. humbrol released their own colour which i believe is 226.
  5. That really is lovely Ron with a great choice of markings.
  6. I agree that the new SAM book is first class, unfortunately the datafile has beenout of print for some time now. The ony caveat is that the new SAM book is sub-type specific (FBVI) so if your model is of a different mark you may find it only of limited use.
  7. That would explain why I couldn't find any from MDC last Sunday! I won't forget in a hurry now.
  8. Great work Brian, I bought one of these last Sunday. One question, is there enough room for the instrument panel to pass through the cockpit opening?
  9. I think I've found what you're looking for here Tim, in the SAM Aviation Guide. It's the map storage pocket.
  10. I've often wondered that Tim. I hope to get down to Salisbury Hall soon so I'll ask when I go.
  11. That's wonderful work Supermario. Keep the pictures coming please.
  12. I would have thought so. Looking forward to the new pics!
  13. I was always led to believe you can Tim, the only exception bein the dinghy box which is located just to the aft of the cockpit opening. I am not sure why Airfix didn't include it as a separate feature in the kit.
  14. Mine arrived this morning, minus the main clear instrument panel part. I've ordered a replacement. Apart from that I'm really happy.
  15. 163 does have a satin finish whereas 106 doesn't but if you are going to varnish andor klear the model that shouldn't matter. Good louck with the rest of the build.
  16. That's great work on what looks like a lovely model. I must admit though that I would use Humbrol 163 for the Dark Green and 106 for the Ocean Geay. Just an observation.
  17. Those engines look nice! Enjoy the build, weather permitting I've got one coming next week.
  18. Thanks Mark, that's very useful. I'll have a look through my transfer bank later.
  19. I have one of those, it's a re-issue of the old kit originally released back in the 1970's. Still a great kit though, IMO. That's a great start Mario by the way.
  20. I'm speechless Mark! I'm intending to mine as the A-5 using the markings from the kit. Could you tell me please where you got the engine placards from? Thanks in advance.
  21. That engine looks stunning Mark. Is work on the cockpit suspended for now or have I missed something?
  22. Nice work so far Ron. Personally, I don't blame Trumpeter for using the "if it aint broke don't fix it" approach to this kit. After all, although the part breakdown is similar, the sprue layout isn't and Trumpeter would still have the expense of designing and building the tools. And it kept the cost down to a reasonable level! The main thing is enjoy the build, as you are obviously are doing.
  23. You've certainly earned your sleep Spence. That's awesome.
  24. Mine was ordered yesterday. Can't wait!!!
  25. Looking forward to this, I bought one recently.
