  1. 1/32 twins WOW! see what happens when you get busy for a few years 1/32 He 111? is out? as soon as Iam done here will go find it, been working on some 1/1 restorations the last few years and ready to thin out the stash alittle now, R Hunt.
  2. And to think it was a 1.50 for that kit back then, mine met its match in a firecraker/BB gun attack around 68, R Hunt.
  3. I have a few of these kits, used to sell them like crazy on e-bay until Wally mart got out of the model bussiness, I loved them! for all the above reasons and hope they come out with the kits but there not worth 40.00 bucks, the Stuka's are very good and I still have a couple in the stash as I like them much better than the Revell kits, R Hunt.
  4. I use a sandable automotive primer in a spray can and try to pick what ever color was used on the A/C as you can get in differant shades of grey, red oxide and a couple differnet greens. Bob.
  5. for airbrushing I only use acrylics and mostly tamiya, acrylics are just way too easy to clean up after and as said you wont blow your house up, tamiya paint seems to last or have a shelve life as the rest mostly turn to stone or goo after a year or so. Bob.
  6. They started life as an order of 100 made to be made to british spec, somewhere in the middle of production they were deffered or traded to the Chinese in return the Brits would get a newer verson , so they were in verious states of completion the most complete had colors that closely matched Brits and equipedment as well although dont know about the seatbelts but from what I know the Brits insisted on there spec's so I would think they had them, some even had British roundells, as soon as curtis found out they were going to china they switched gears and more or less made them to US spec. including paint and probably things like seatbelts jsut because its what they had more of, I could never fine out what serial number got what and the number on the planes didnt correspond as they were numbered as they came off the ship in China 1 tthough 100 with #1 being the first parts plane as it was dropped unloading form the ship, what I did was look closely in my referance book to see if the plane had painted over British roundells and figured that those must have most of british stuff including colors and built mine like that. Bob.
  7. Thanks! as I said from that cross over list I couldnt figure anything out but this nails it, at first I tried XF-59 which is desert yellow but that seemed a bit on the dark side will try some FX-60 , also was not sure if the underside was a blue or a stright grey but again this is now cleared up, thanks again and I'll be on my way to my local hobby shop in the morning. Bob.
  8. I went to those sites but nothing really croses , does Tamiya have the colors? what have others here used? Bob.
  9. Building the 21st century 202 and I need to know what colors to use in Tamiya for the version with the smoke rings? the kit only call for other brands of paint? I like to use Tamiya for the exteriors as for me it goes down well and my local hobby shop has a good supply, any help would be great! Thanks, Bob
  10. Glad you brought this up about the tail struts as I have the kit and didnt plan on building it for awhile so after reading this I looked and guess what.........no struts, its funny that after all these years and kits until now only one was missing a part and that was a tony off ebay and now no decals in my buffalo and no struts in my stuka! Bob!
  11. Squadron sent me my decals with no trouble so there back on my good side , alot of good info on this subject, working on the 21st 202 right now(shouldnt take very long as theres nt much there) and then I think this will be my next build, wernt these the planes that defended wake? for some reason I thought so but the instructions say otherwise, anyway I'll build the Marine verson. Bob.
  12. Nope! not there, checked it twice, no decals as to the model differances the kit does indeed come with differant props, seats, engine parts and tail cone, in breifly looking though the instuctions there were also some cockpit differances but didnt see any length changes as yet. Bob.
  13. I used the very same logic and got one from squadron as well, upon opening the box i was very impressed as this looks to be a very good kit that looks as to build up great.....but! no decals? yes the box was sealed.....no They didnt fall out on my floor...they werent there! called squadron a week ago and they said they would look into it and get back to me but as yet have not! thought about ordering another as I wanted to build the USMC verson first but would also like to do the RAF verson as well to go with my AVG P-40's and there should be enough decals in one kit to do both but then again if squadron does not fix this I dont want to give them anymore buissiness, let me know if yours comes with decals. Thanks, Bob.
  14. yes this is the thread Iam talking about and I thought is was gostmec but wasnt sure, could not pull up the art and would love to see it as I think its close or the same. Bob.
  15. maybe this has already been brought up but a little over a year ago someone here started a rumor of a japanese company doing a 1/32 jug and posted some box art.....there was much nit-picking and the end result was it was deemed a fake, not knowing very much about box art other than if I like it or not I stayed out of it but if my memorie serves me it was the box art that is now on the hasagawa kit? cant remember who posted it or exactly when...........was it luck or did someone really know something that far ahead? Bob
  16. Still have the car........69 Coronet R/T 440 / 4speed/dana 60 fully restored! it was the hardest 1/1 scale build I have every done! Bob.
  17. Must have pretty damm big houses in China!. I guess the only thing left is a 1/18 747! Bob.
  18. other than the fact the 21 century does not have an engine it completely blow the old revell away in every catagory...........you are talking about the old revell and not the mongram pro-modeler? Bob.
  19. I only have two wishes here............do one in 1/32 and then hit me with a B-17!!!!!!!! Bob.
  20. This company does not seem to be afraid of going big...........do suppose we just might see a B-25 or maybe even a B-17? Bob.
  21. I suppose I should have said that the instuctions does not mention or show a drop either, its funny that the picture on the box which is a picture of the model has one on it plus the painting directions shows it, the picture on the box also shows a differnt cowling than whats in the kit? Bob.
  22. I have two of these and neither one has a drop tank? the picture on the box shows one, does anyone else have a kit with one, dont need one just wondering. Bob.
  23. the "E" is my favorite 109 and this is my favorite 109 kit, I have three and just bought two more from I believe Great models a few months ago for 19.00 usd, give them a try as they may have a few left, dont know where they got them but there the old matchbox kits they also had some of the old matchbox 1/32 combat troops for cheap! got a few of those as well, Bob
