Little up date on the D model chinook. I got all the rotor flipped around to give it an in flight look, rather than the static blade sag. As this one will be an in flight diorama Below you can see the front is how rotors came out of box and rear after I flipped them.

Well figured I’d make a Wip for my UH1N as well. This will most likely be a strait forward out of box build until further notice lol. started of with modifying the seats to fit my black ops models 1/35 helo pilots! These figures are made for Little birds but they are slightly larger than the live resin figures, so to my eye they fit the Huey much better. (Seem more properly scaled)! Armor Seat on the left is the modified version and armor seat on right is out of the box. Then of course I have to dry fit everything lol ( one of my favorite steps) Then on to assemble and paint of the cockpit/cabin. The dragon kit has some nice PE parts I added some window maker over gauges. that’s all for now on this kit.

Looks awesome so far! I do a lot of helos but this is making me want to get a 1/32 aircraft

I just built a “photo box” from white foam poster board, to step up my photography game here are some shots I took of my little bird and the lighting is just from my dinning room light. Still need to get a nice led light to mount over box.

no updates on this build I sat it aside to focus on my 1/35 UH-1Y Venom project

shapeways makes a 1/35 bell 412 conversion kit to use with dragons 1/35 UH1N gunships. That would be much better I’d imagine than a revel kit

Got lower section done. I cut up an old cheap 1/32 revel Huey I had and utilized the body shape to my advantage! Lower and sides came out fantastic wish I could of done same for the top section Now to do some body work (filler) around flare launchers

Got the left side glued it’s really coming together I’m happy for a kitbash/scratch build

Chipping away! Header panel( not sure if that’s correct name or not ) extended and braced. then on to the upper fuselage section, it didn’t turn out 100% but with a little filler it should be good bent to shape styrene next was the sides of fuselage, and adding the flare system. that's all for tonight….. more to come !

Anyone heard anymore updates on this ?? Even tho I’m building a 1/35 UH1Y Venom kit bash style I’d be ready to buy new kit asap if they release the 1/35 scale Huey kits that kitty hawk was about to release.

Also small update on the chinook after starting fuel boom I figured I need to try and just convert whole thing to MH-47 ! so I got started on the nose. This is just a rough draft but now I know it’s “ doable“ lol made from air dry clay! It was easy to shape and it dried rock hard and sanded like a dream! that’s all for now on this bird

Got the venom back on the desk and managed to get cockpit/cabin extended Got it glued in and braced on the bottom side. got fuselage mocked up again after cockpit/cabin extension to see about how to fill in the gaps now on the fuselage. and next to my UH-1N gunship hope to start making more updates!

Did you order threw eBay or there sight directly ? When stuff comes from china I always try and find them on eBay to order… helps with getting a refund if you don’t receive said items.

Well started up another project while all others still lay partly started them selfs! lol This one should be pretty simple and to the point. I’ll be adding some live resin little bird pilots to it as well. here are a few pics…… dry fitting some parts cheers Matt

More figures came in for the ch47D I have a lot of work ahead of me lol liveresin was kind enough to give me there new 6 operator team with my regular order Should work out well for the diorama I will attempt

Well I scored one of these what seems to be rare frogman kits So for one of the chinooks I may attempt a diorama similar to this photo ….
