  1. Can you dip a brush in the alcohol and wipe the model down that way??? Tim
  2. I keep reading in alot of posts that guys prep their model for painting by wiping the model down using alcohol. How do you guys keep from breaking off delicate pieces while wiping it down? What kind of alcohol do you use? Isopropyl? Tim
  3. Unfortunately a sad ending. https://www.wisn.com/article/madison-based-f-16-crashes-in-michigans-upper-peninsula/34919201 Tim
  4. This should be a better help to you seeing this is what it looks like in flight. You can see the coppery look a little bit. Tim
  5. Sweet! I knew my 40 hour student pilot certificate would come in handy some day. Cessna 152----L39, yeah pretty close to the same! Should be a piece of cake!!! Tim
  6. Here ya go I used Tamiya Weathering Set D "Burnt Red" for my hot section. Tim
  7. Pete, don't forget the middle of the exhaust has a dark almost coppery look to it from the heat. I'll find a pic for you. Stand by. Tim
  8. They probably won't release the Lima. Myself, Ramon Lomeli and Floyd Werner created a backdate set to make a Lima from either the MH-60L or HH-60G kit. Tim
  9. Pete, here's a pic that's similar to your in-flight hoist that gives you some good references for the pitch angle of the M/R blades and T/R blades. Hope it helps! Tim
  10. Even with brass, you make it look real. I so wish you'd make a how-to build book for the H-60!!!! Tim
  11. Looking forward to this build just like the others. Your modeling AND photography skills are top notch. Maybe you oughta build the Kitty Hawk MH-60L after this as a change of scenery??? Tim
  12. Did you have a problem getting the top to sit flush? I had to use 2 clamps to keep it snug followed by generous amounts of tamiya extra thin on the sides. Tim
  13. Oliver, actually the head is just setting on top the gearbox. I just wanted a good pic of it so I placed it there temporarily. Tim
  14. A little more done on the MH-60 tonight. The top doghouse was a tight fit that needed clamps to get it down fully onto the fuselage. It's definitely not as good as Pete's helo, but I like it. Comments welcome Happy Thanksgiving guys! Tim
  15. I dipped a spare brush in debonder and very carefully wiped the smudge away. Smudge is gone and no reaction to the plastic. Thanks Thunnus!!! Tim
  16. Dodgem, Pete's right. It angles back under the premise that the cable will deflect down and under the wheel if not cut first. Tim
  17. Ok. The pe nor the model is not painted right now, so I'll try your idea. Thanks Tim
  18. The cyno wipe would work perfect, but I can't find a US distributor for it and I can't find it on Ebay either. Tim
  19. I can definitely see where you would have been able to catch that. As far as the surface detail, well--let's just say you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. I personally would have rather of had raised rivets, but that was KH's choice I suppose. We can just send our helos to Pete and he can rivet them for us!!!!!! Tim
  20. Starfighter, Maybe just a little. I was part of the R&D proofreading team and that was one of the areas we pointed out to KH to correct. The original CAD had it alot more flat than now. Being a former UH-60 crew chief, I've looked at plenty of hydraulic deck covers and to me, the model looks close enough. Only an aircrew or someone with a keen eye (such as you) would notice the difference. Tim
  21. While gluing the front nose screen onto my helo, I accidentally touched the corner of it and now there is a small finger smudge on the corner of the screen. Will CA debonder on a cotton bud remove it??? Tim
  22. Got a little bench time in today before work. All the seams look cleaned up and added the nose radar mount onto the fuselage. That's all for now Tim
