  1. Awesome. Gonna have to get some!!! EDIT: I've looked and I can't find it online. Can you post a pic of it please? Tim
  2. Thanks Pete! Did you remember what you used on the disco lighr? Was it the hasegawa iridescent tape? Tim
  3. Thanks Chuck. I think it's cool for an expert modeler like your self to open up and tell us what tools you have and use. Tim
  4. How did you do that disco light? Did you cut each little square out separately or just used 1 piece and burnished it down? Tim
  5. Be careful about what you wish for, it could happen! Stay tuned and buy some yellow paint! Just sayin!!! Tim
  6. Pete, you NAILED it brother!!! This whole build has/is been simply mind-blowing! This has been the best H-60 build ever! I wish you would build another hawk. It's like riding a cool roller coaster, you wanna ride it again! You gotta build another hawk Pete!!! Tim Tim
  7. Yes, that's where they twist for the pitch change of the blade. Tim
  8. Pete, the blades get their twist from the T/R pitch beam. The blades are elastomeric and twist when the pitch beam moves the PC links up or down. The retention plates stay flat, they do not twist. Only the blades. HTH! Tim
  9. Thanks Maru, but my build looks like a kindergarten model compared to Pete's!!! I wish I had his building skills Tim
  10. Finally got a little more work done. It's just about ready for the primer Tonight I spent about 2 hours scratchbuilding the T/R de-ice ring and wires. For the ring, I used a scrap piece of styrene and sanded it into a round circle. I then made 4 starter holes in the ring with a #77 bit followed up with a #75 bit. I made the wiring by using .020 lead wire and glued them on. Just a little detail KH missed, so being a ex crew chief, I put in on there. (My SMEAMS was kicking in!) Tim
  11. Man that's so real!!!! Just like you shrunk down a real HH-60G! Tim
  12. That's the shame of all the small, tiny or even big accurate (or the close facsimile of it) details we put into our models. Sometimes when the fuselage is closed up or the door is attached, much of days, hours and pulled out hair spent detailing is almost gone to the eye. Yeah "but I know it's there " is something we say including myself, but it's still irritating that one has built a bang up model with stunning details on the inside that either you can't see or are hard to see and when the model is done the detail is virtually nonexistent. Buuuut, Chuck's detail will always be absolutely awesome. I wish I had your talent brother!!! Tim
  13. Wow, simply stunning work Chuck! What did you use for the fuel tank straps? Tim
  14. CO2 is the way to go. SOOOO much easier to work with. I use a 5 lb tank and it costs about $25 to fill. I built a tank support from scrap metal from work and had one of our welders weld the 2 circle straps on and then I painted it and screwed it into the side of my modeling bench. I bought a kegerator regulator off of Ebay and it works perfect for me. Tim Tim
  15. Zactoman, will you sell the iridescent tape separately so helo modelers can use it on the disco lights??? Please? Tim
  16. While scratchbuilding an antenna mount for my MH-60L, I had to do alot of sanding to square it up. It took 4 times before i finally got it. What's the best way, tip or tool to ensure you get a good 90' angle when you sand styrene? Tim
  17. You make all your work look so simple and easy to us, I'd love to have your modeling skills!!! Tim
  18. Pete, your build makes my MH-60L look like it was built by a little kid. I will never be able to reach your level of skill. I cannot wait to see this completely finished!!! Tim
  19. I'm speechless at your model building! Simply AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tim
  20. As the tag says, what's the best way to simulate wire clamps? I'm scratchbuilding a new H-60 pilot seat and was looking around for the best way to do it. (The whole seat will be used as a master for resin so I'd like it to have that 3d real look to it. Any ideas out there? Tim
  21. Kemtech wipes instead of alcohol or wipes along with alcohol??? Tim
  22. Love the weathering on the top. This model would win best of show!!! Tim
  23. If it's not too late, there is supposed to be a small gap in between the exhaust shield and fuselage body. Not nit-picking, but I know how much you're wanting it to be life-like. You seriously ought to make a how-to book on a hawk Pete! This is absolutely amazing work Tim
