  1. Chuck, I agree with Pete. I'd love to see you tackle a helo build (preferably a H-60). Your techniques and your photography are top notch. Tim
  2. Pete, how long do you wait to play around with the AP after mixing the 2 parts to keep it not as sticky? Tim
  3. Thanks Pete! You and your build are my teacher for this one. So a little info on the HH-60L. It is a standard UH-60L that has been converted to a medevac role. The hoist that is installed is a better one than the hoists that are installed on the M models. It is attached to the ESSS mounts and alot of crew chiefs like them better. Other than a special medical interior setup, the helicopter is pretty much the same as the newer M model. The HH-60L has the non-folding stabilator and has the FLIR attached to the left main landing gear sponson. This is the only pic that was taken that day thst shows the civilian in a SKEDCO being hoisted up with the civilian EMT attached to the hoist and this is how my display will look (I hope). Chow for now! Tim
  4. I'm trying to transfer the EKG build over to this build thread. Since it was a med bird and no one has a resin monitor, I decided to scratchbuild one. My first attempt came out looking like a 80's boom box, so I started over and I think this time, it looks alot more realistic. The knobs are 1/32 Anyz resin knobs. Next, I added the shock paddles and wiring from .015 lead wire wrapped around a drill bit. I still need to add the back pouch and it will be finished. Chow for now Tim
  5. Pete, Couldn't wait, could ya??? Outstanding start on the pilot's raft. Looks like your table is getting full!!! Can't wait to get my hands on that conversion set. I also need to snag that FLIR for my HH-60L build. Tim
  6. After seeing Pete's HH-60G inflight display and going back and forth if I should or not, I've decided to TRY and build an inflight display of a HH-60L black hawk medevac hoisting up a injured civilian. This build is based off of a true rescue that happened back in 2019. Here's the background of the rescue. Wildcat DUSTOFF made headlines this weekend for conducting a MEDEVAC mission in the Red River Gorge Saturday evening May 18 2019. After the first call was made by civilian SAR, Wildcat 097, a HH-60L was on scene within an hour to MEDEVAC a critical patient on top of Natural Bridge. Due to the location, the patient had to be extracted with the rescue hoist. History was made as this was the first rescue hoist mission of a civilian conducted by a KY Army National Guard aircraft and crew inside the Commonwealth. This will be a long build and I am having to scratchbuild ALOT of stuff since no one has the AM things I need. You've seen the EKG monitor I'm working on and also I am making a internal fuel tank that the HH-60L carries. Will post more pics soon! Chow for now! Tim
  7. I worked on the EKG machine tonight and I added the Defibrillator "Shock" paddles and the power cords that was made from winding .015 lead wire around a drill bit. All that's left is to scratchbuild the nylon bag that attaches to the back of the monitor and I can call this piece done and ready for casting (hopefully) by a aftermarket company. Chow for now! Tim
  8. You rock Pete. Thanks a bunch! I've been speaking to a KyNG 60 crew chief friend of mine who was part of a HH-60L medevac crew to rescue an injured civilian off of Natural Bridge and he convinced me to build an in-flight hoist rescue of that day. I'll be starting it soon. I'm collecting all the stuff I need including the figures. Still gotta buy those rivet sheets from Woody, but he hooked me up with everything you got for the build. Keep an eye out for a build called "Wildcat 097"-HH-60L medevac hoist rescue. Tim
  9. Pete, I've got a few questions for ya: 1) What size metal wire did you use for the hoist cable and where did you get it? 2) What size magnets did you use for the rescue hook and basket and where did you get them? 3) How did you get the wire to stay up inside the hoist housing? Thanks brother! Tim
  10. This paint scheme is super awesome. Can't wait for someone to do this on a decal sheet! Way to go Southwest Airlines and from a veteran I say "THANK YOU" Tim
  11. Yeah, I think so too, but my stuff is kindergartenish compared to the scratchbuilding things you create! You are a master scratchbuild in my eyes!!! Tim
  12. After looking at the EKG monitor a little bit more tonight, I decided that the 1st piece just looked too much like a 80's boom box, so I started over and I think this time, it looks alot more realistic. The knobs are 1/32 Anyz resin knobs. I still need to add the paddles and a storage bag attached to the back. Chow for now Tim
  13. Floyd Werner is good friends with him from what I understand. He'd probably know. Tim
  14. I've heard 2 different stories: --He was 1/2 owner with Song --He was the North American head guy for KH Tim
  15. It's been said the molds were sold to Hobbyboss (but not confirmed!) Tim
  16. Can't wait for Pete's helo build to be available!!! Tim
  17. Yes. Go through FB messenger. He answers fairly quickly. Tim
  18. I can honestly say that THAT'S the longest post I've ever seen!!!!! Tim
  19. So tonight I decided to add the seat cushion fashioned from Apoxie Sculpt along with a few more rail details on the sides of the seat frames. Once the AP is dry, I'll sand the cushion to shape. Chow for now! Tim
  20. Tonight I started on the seat bottom after I finally found the right size wire for the headrest. That took a while, but I think it looks close enough. Still needs the cushion though which I'll make from Apoxie Sculpt tomorrow night. Chow for now! Tim
  21. Can you print anything in 3d? I have a couple of pieces (pics) I need in resin if you can do it. It's for a 1/35 helicopter. Tim
  22. Found this set on Amazon. Are the grits selection good enough for modeling? Tim
