  1. Looks fab (didn't you have tail sitting issues? what was the solution in the end?)I so need to build one of these by the way - something really skanky looking like the ones in catch 22
  2. A lovely job you've done on that one, I must admit I did have some fit issues with the engine cowlings but nothing insurmountable. I think I started this expecting something akin to the quality of tamiya's P51 which it isn't, it's certainly better some of trumpeters kits I've bashed together. I'd build another so it can't have been too traumatic
  3. Nice paint job ( i think a few of the iraqi Sea furies got bought up and restored in the 1970's /80's) by private companies?)
  4. Alclad Flat Aluminium & Duralumnium I think.
  5. Hi Mark - just a bit of Eduard etch in the cockpit (CP and seat belts) but everything else including the under carriage are the standard kit parts Best regards - Alistair
  6. You're right - I think this one got to be like a 'Death March' towards the end though and I just ran out of steam. I might spend an evening on it and tweak it
  7. Hi Nick - I reckon on average about 6-8 weeks depending on whether it goes well or its a bit of a battle, not sure how long most people take ? At the moment I don't seem to have the time to so anything as 18 day old Fred seems to need feeding, winding, nappy changing etc. every hour and the P61 Black Widow cockpit I started a few weeks back doesn't seem to be moving on very fast at the moment! All the best, Alistair
  8. 1/32 Trumpeter Kit - I think was one of their earlier kits and there are loads of quality issues, many of which have been addresed in the last few years, bad fits, ejection pin marks everywhere and the wing fit if you choose not to fold them is awful. Bit of an experiemental model for me - first attempt at salt weathering and just trying to make something look used and abused (which from what a can gather was the norm for the Korean war)
  9. Zoukei Mura's 1/32 offering. Used Gunze Acrylics for this as their RLM colours are the closest I reckon. In all honesty this is not as good an engineered project as I expected, especially the cowling fit around the engine - turned out OK in the end though, finished it off as yellow 43 (no idea whether such a configuration existed but I'm not a total accuracy guy, as long as it looks good i'm happy)
  10. Tamiyas 1/32 - lovely model. All OTB, Alclad, Tamiya & Xtracylix acrylics, Flory wash with Vallejo matt varnish. Decals are from Eagelcal. Again another plane to remake, only problem is there are so many choices of livery.
  11. Thanks for the thumbs up guys, glad you like it! A few more photos of it for you - this was a beautiful plane to build, no filler needed anywhere. A Vietnam era camouflaged F4 in the is definitely on the cards for next year once the current stash is depleted. I'll post a few more completed 1/32 planes tomorrow
  12. Tamiyas F4J Phantom - 'VF 333 Fighting Shamrocks' in 1/32. Painted using Tamiya rattle cans, Tamiya Acrylics and Alclad metallics. Flory dark dirt wash and a few oil streaks finished off with Vallejo matt varnish. OOB except for a bit of Eduard etch in the cockpit.
