  1. Loic, that engine is fantastic..... bet it starts up first time!
  2. Thor, that paintjob is simply awesome! Were the smoke rings done freehand? Amazing, I wish I had just a fraction of the skill you have my friend!
  3. Its looking great by the way, top job you're doing Which reminds me, can you still get the bubbletop conversions anywhere?
  4. Its amazing how useful beer can are, I use them a lot. Of course, emptying them beforehand is very enjoyable..... never use soda cans though, they're not as good as beer cans
  5. Thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated! Johan, its too big for the shelf my friend, she will have to go in the larger display cabinet with my 1/32 Mosquito!
  6. Loic, dave and Allok, thanks for the kind comments
  7. Well guys n gals, a bit more work done. Been a bit slow again coz the work has been fiddly detaily bits. The torpedo sight, gunsight, wingtip lights, landing lights, wingtop navigation lights, rigging wires, torpedo shackle are all on. The torpedo and Vickers gun are now in permant situ, plus other small detailing. I would have liked the decals professionally made but, finances prevented that. So, another small arc in the learning curve and I've produced my own. All decals apart from the f/large strip ( blue decal sheet) have been printed on my h/p printer. A spray over with varnish and then a coat of Klear to stop the ink from coming off. The '608' were yet another problem to overcome. Initially, I thought about making stencils and spraying them. But after cutting out god knows how many, I didnt find any of them satisfactory. Next idea was to print the 608 in black on white decal paper which I did. The idea was to cut around the number and then when the decal was dipped in water, the ink would come off leaving a white number. Worked great except when I tried to slide it from the backing, it curled, bent, folded and was useless. Problem was just the number wasn't strong enough to slide from the backing. Then the night after last, after a couple of beers, an idea came to mind- RAF font printed on white deacla paper. Paint in the white middles of the number withe the background colour and cut out the number as a square, When dipped in water, the black ink came off and the white number with its coloured background still there and strong enough to slide from the backing. It worked! Today, the decals applied and a coat of Klear to seal them in (quick!) Anyways, enough of my rambling, heres some pictures, sorry they're dark, was hammering down with rain. Hope you like! Pez
  8. Graham, my next will be either 1/32 Whirlwind (should I just wait? lol), or a 1/32 Firefly. Also have a 1/32 Vickers Wellington... now I should be safe with that one
  9. Typical, I spend the last 12 months buillding my vac Stringbag and just as I nearly finish........ The Trumpy Swordfish may be expensive but, they're big in this scale!
  10. Nice! Are those SAAF decals for a Dk grey over light blue scheme?

Looking great Graham, keep up the good work mate! Good to see you over here too Glenn!
  12. Thats really starting to look very nice, cant wait to see it finished. I have a Revell P40 in my stash. When I get round to it, I intend to build it in the markings of Neville Dukes P40. I have a signed photo of him standing in front of the aircraft
  13. This is looking seriously good! Are you going to make stencils for the roundels too? I have to make some stencils for some white numbers for my Swordfish, not looking forward to it to be honest!
  14. What a stunning paint job you've made of that - great, well done!
  15. That is really beautiful work Larry, very impressive my friend!
  16. This will be a very interesting build to watch!
  17. Graham. I think I would do similar to what Larry sugests. I would get a piece of paper, trace the botom edge of the tail spine from its forward point and the position of the waist window. Enlarge it 150% and cut it out. Then use it as a template to mark on the position of the window.
