  9. Mike was attached lower left of helmet just behind on mask bayonet receiver com wire ran hemet to a clip in the back then loose plug that hung over right shoulder down to a "y" connection. the "y" connection was nessary to also connect to the ics and the o2 mask mike. we were required to be on air for tack off and landings and any time we were above 6,000 agl mask sat in a pouch on the left breast of survival vest just above 9mm pistol holster my binos sat in their case right side of ejection seat. Maps in use were on my thigh clip board and any extras were in a leg pocket along with NATOPS manuals.

  11. My helmet was APH 6 daul visor white reflective tape with VMO-2 stenciled across the visor with UU horse shoes on each side some in blue some in black. Then when we started wearing hgu 55s I had my helmet covered with a Marine Corps WW 2 heringbone cloth dessert camo helmet cover, one side was jungle the other side dessert, I purchased a couple from a local surplus store in oceanside ca. Flight shop adapted these to my helmet, most hgu 55s were done in the 5 colored chocolate chip camo pattern. Our squadron colors were pretty much red white and blue as seen on our "A" birds tail feathers
