  1. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out. No fighting over the tools ! Obant.
  2. Good Grief ........ Terrific engine build. Obantzzzzzz........... < faints in admiration >
  3. Very nice. Judging from your comments and from what we can see, this seems to be a really nice kit - hmmmm, might have to include this one after my Bf 109e and then a Spit and then a Fw190 and then ....... "............. THE WORLD" Grant.
  4. Not sure that big blue thing attached to the tail was in the original plans ..... Very nice - it's coming along quite quickly isn't it. Cheers Grant
  5. Gosh, that's sweet - bookmarked!! Obant.
  6. Very nice work Jeroen, these frame work cockpits really bring home how very basic but incredibly effective the Hurricane was. Incidentally, I was given a copy of Alan Bramson's official biography of Sir Tommy Sopwith called "Pure Luck" for Christmas. The reason I mention this is I'm reminded that it was his foresight and disbelief in the then governments stance on whether another war was inevitable that he personally funded the cost of a squadron of Hurricanes be built and delivered to the RAF before ordered by the Air Ministry - it helped that he owned Hawker Aircraft of course. The book is out of print now but if you can track it down (I know Amazon were advertising one or two) I would STRONGLY recommend it to any one with a liking for history and aviation. A truly extraordinary man. Cheers Grant. PS: Just checked Amazon, they've got quite a few used used paperback and hard back copies, certainly more than I thought originally.
  7. Hells teeth that's pretty and the leather effect you've mastered is terrific (figures used to be my first love and I know how difficult getting a a realistic effect is - never having achieved it myself). Brilliant Spit, figure, Lab - classic combination, couldn't be more BoB. Obant.
  8. Wow, that's sweet - super build of a very pretty aircraft. Great job. Obant.
  9. Now that's very pretty - lovely build. Obant.
  10. Cool - microscopic stuff Jeroen, some fabulous detail going on. Can't wait for more as always. Grant
  11. Fabulous build - looking forward to the display case. Obant.
  12. Wow, extraordinary stuff ! Thoroughly enjoying this one, great lessons as well - bonus! Obant.
  13. Good flush fastener tool tip (much easier to type than say !!!) Jeroen. Love the subtle shading in the interior - it's going to be an absolute cracker this one! Cheers Grant.
  14. Yup, it's Grant (Obant is a family nickname) - please feel free to call me either. Love following this build - the detail you're undertaking is incredible. Grant (Obant).
  15. Very nice Jeroen - worth the effort I reckon. Grant
  16. Wow ! Excellent workmanship - it's like watching a real 1:1 factory build. Obant
  17. Flush donuts are definitely the way to go. Looking forward to seeing more. Grant
  18. Hehehe ... Oh I knew Friday wasn't a "flyer" - just a comment on how fast you seemed to come out of the blocks on this build.Looks much better having got rid of the donuts but it's now looking like it's come down with a case of chicken pox instead So, what's the quality of the kit like? Easy to work with? Grant.
  19. That, Sir, it just extraordinary work. Fabulous build and extremely informative too - what could be better? Obant.
  20. And there I was thinking it would be finished by today Looking really good Jeroen, I agree - the donuts look a little odd but it'll be a helluva job sanding them all down and rescribing them won't it? Looking forward to more as always. Grant.
  21. The way you're going you'll have this finished by Friday ! Looks good Grant
  22. Hmm, to say the kit part is basic is an understatement! With my untrained eye I would have thought a scratch built one would be much better and not that complicated. Cheers, Grant
  23. There I was, moochIng around the net when I found this interesting review/build of the Pacific Hurricane - you've probably already found it but I thought it worth pointing it out as the reviewer (having built three of them by then) was VERY emphatic about build sequence and his way of avoiding the problems associated with following the manufacturers route. His way seems to avoid these hassles. I know this review is of the BoB issue but looking at his other reviews he says the same for the early versions too. Anyway, here's the link: http://modelingmadness.com/reviews/allies/cleaver/gb/tmcbobh1.htm Hope it helps. Grant.
