Nope. But the real deal. Look carefully at how the aircraft is depicted in the colour artwork. There are some very obvious differences.

I'm sort of surprised that neither of those guys responded, especially Steve, as he is with IPMS Canada. I wouldn't dare recommend something to you. Discounting aircraft with nose art or a different colour spinner or rudder (if you can find a photo), they are all rather nondescript, really. You're doing a straight F.XIVe, correct?
-
Looking great, Tom. Have you decided on markings yet, or is that to be a surprise?
-
That's looking great! What are the two sprues that you using from the Mk.VIII kit? I'm going to order them from Tamiya USA. Thank you. EDIT. Never mind. I found your post regarding the two sprues.

Any Photos of DC Gordon’s MV256 AE*K Spitfire XIVe?

If I were in your shoes, Tom, I would contact Steve in Ottawa or John M through that link I posted on Britmodeller and see if either of them would be willing to share the information/photos that they have. Some people hoard and won't, others are only too happy to share. All they can do is say no, right? -

Tom, Have a read through this thread. I think you’ll find it interesting as it does mention AE-K RM256. Start at post #7 by John M. and read from there. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234918752-spitfire-xiv-identity-confusion/ -

Okay. Maybe Tail-Dragon has a photo? I haven't seen the decals from Southern Sky Models. What's the other decal set? -

Out of curiosity, why do you believe MV256 had a white spinner and rudder? -

Air Ministry Form 78 (aircraft movement card) or Air Ministry Form 1180 (accident card) would probably tell you of the fate/disposition of RM862, which subsequently led to MV256 becoming aircraft K. -

AE-K RM862 from 2nd Tactical Air Force Vol 3. It's a pretty grainy picture to begin with. Nothing on MV256. -

Sorry, I don't. A slight correction, though. The s/n was actually MV256. Earlier, I believe, 402 also had Mk.XIVe RM862 as AE-K (there is a photo of this aircraft). So MV256 was its replacement? Edit: The 402 Sqd ORB shows RM862 and MV256 on squadron strength together. S/L Gordon flies RM862 for the first time on 19.4.45 (the A/C doesn't appear in the ORB after this date) and MV256 is flown on the same armed recce by F/L B.E. Innes. S/L Gordon goes up again later that same day in RM858. S/L Gordon flies MV256 for the first time on 25.4.45. According to the ORB, S/L Gordon DFC, was posted to 402 Sqd on 15.4.45 from 411 Sqd. Too much info? -
Of course! Had to know that the initial release of 40 sets would disappear in a flash. More of them to come, and other conversions as well.

Paypal option was not there as it has been deactivated for now. He posted this info on his FB page.

I just hope mine arrive in the U.K. while I'm there (they should, from Belgium), otherwise it will end up costing me more!
-
I managed to get 2, which is a group order. It's rather fortuitous that I will be overseas in a few days on vacation, so I was able to ship to a U.K. address for considerably less postage than overseas, otherwise I simply wouldn't have ordered at all. I will, of course, still have to deal with customs and duty upon my return, unless the agents are feeling rather generous!

I'm pretty sure this is the same Ursus Americanus that was waiting for me while mountain biking last week-standing, not sitting, though!
-
As the low back conversion hasn't been released yet and work is clearly progressing nicely on the high back, I am beginning to wonder if these sets will be released concurrently. Quite frankly, I think it would make complete sense to do just that.

July 2023 Scale Aircraft Modelling info on Mirage IV?

No cross section drawings. One page of top and bottom plan views, and one page of profiles with a small front view. That's it. -
Mossie tiered rocket rails references
TBC replied to BiggTim's topic in Aviation Discussion & Research
Tim, The detailed drawings Kagemusha mentions in the Aviaeology sheets are in 1/24 scale. There is also a small inset in 1/12 showing the mounting hardware and also a 1/48 profile which shows the relationship between the rocket rails, RP's, drop tank, and engine nacelle. If you would like them just PM me and they are yours. -
Nice, Kev. Looking forward to a detailed review. Hopefully you'll have the time to give us some nice close-up shots of all the individual components.
