1/32 staggerwing on Ebay

Anybody know anything about this kit? Who makes it, anything else? Looks pretty simple, I don't see much that looks like interior parts, He claims it's complete, but looks like the lower wing has seperate ailerons, and I don't see them. Also don't see any wheel wells, co I guess it's wheels up only.

From my database:

Beechcraft G17S Staggerwing kit: 'Beechcraft Staggerwing'; 1/32 scale; manufactured by Staggerwings Unlimited [uSA] — product no. (none); MEDIUM/MEDIA: injected, decal; MARKINGS: Red, black, and white civil NC numbers; black Beech flashes; AVAILABILITY: out of production

The kit includes landing gear but no wheelwells or interior. Although it's listed in our LSP database, I'm unable to link directly to particular entries there.

Thanks Charles,

Didn't even think about checking the data base, :doh:

It's the ITC mold from '62, released in '76. I think I'll pass on this one.

I think I'd be better off getting the Cleveland plans (the Platinum series, includes engine and interior detail, scale rib spacing, etc, these really weren't meant as flying models) and "stick and tissue" build this one, after all nothing looks more like frame and fabric then stick and tissue :lol:

Cleveland plans for this one start at 1/32 scale, and go to 1/4 scale, now that would be a display!

Here's what you get:

Despite the cover of the brochure and the stars-and-bars decals shown in Iain's photos, the ITC/Staggerwings Unlimited kit represents a (post-war) Model G17 rather than a (wartime) D17, which differs primarily in the shorter chord of its cowl and the presence of engine-cooling vents behind it.

Conversion of the kit to represent a Model D17, which would allows a broader range of markings options, is possible but not trivial.

Guess I'll get the Cleveland plans if I want to build a LS Staggerwing.

Well there is another option (also listed in our LSP database): Scratchbuilders' resin D17/UC-43/GB-2 Staggerwing kit, which is quite rare and not much better than the ITC/Staggerwings Unlimited offering but does represent the main wartime version.

Here are the 3 Beech Staggerwing kits listed in the LSP Kit Database:

- Scratchbuilders;

- ITC;

- Staggerwings Unlimited;

Note that the Staggerwings Unlimited kit uses the same moulds as the ITC kit.

Yes I noticed them, once I looked :doh:

In reality, I was looking to see what the AZ models 1/72 kits were going for, I mainly build in 1/72 scale, for cost and space reasons, but I do dabble in 1/32 a bit, mostly subjects that are interesting to me. I had no idea that a 1/32 Staggerwing kit ever existed, that is why I was curious about this one. I just noticed also that an original ITC kit, with the motor, is on Ebay now, I don't recall seeing it there before, but it has 3 days 19hrs left on it, so it must be a 4 day auction (do they have a 4 day option?)
