Hi, thought i should contribute something so here is the first build since i was a kid.

Its the Airfix new tooling and it was a pleasure to build. Its totally brush painted with a mixture of Humbrol and Tamiya paints. I should have thinned the red a bit, but overall i am quite happy with it.

Nice work for Number One and agreat choice of subject matter. Agreed about thinning the paint out, especially he Tamiya paints. I like to thin them with water (Tamiya) and layer on the color). Comes out smooth as silk and dries pretty fast.

Thanks guys. I learnt a lot building that one, not least to thin paint. When i was a kid i just used to throw it on!

I've moved away from the Humbrol paints now, i have spent a small fortune on Tamiya stuff in the last month or so. I've also been using the microsol/microset decal solutions - it made the decalling much easier on the BF109 i did after the Mustang.

I may try to do a bit of very light weathering on this P51, i have some oil paints ready to make up a wash with, if i'm feeling brave i will have a go...

Thanks again,

Nick
