Super progress on the F4 and getting the gaps and seams squared away. Much appreciated the tip on Gorilla Glue as I have a few bottles that I use every once in a while. I've settle on SB Insta-Cure Gap Filling Medium CCA - works like a charm.

Let's back up a bit and fill in all the details on the 1/72 scale Barksdale Fieldair craft project. Sounds over like a killer.

Keep 'em coming

Peter

Thanks Peter,

Starting to come together and hope to install the PIT in a day or two.  Of course that is just the PIT

with rear IP and sidewalls, to keep things easier to work around.  So Far So Good!

          "Wings Over Barksdale"

My boss had this idea to have a scale model of the aircraft that made Barksdale Field-AFB, home.

A couple of books and web sights later, plus a call to the model club and I had found everything I was looking

for.  I took the most obscure aircraft stationed at Barksdale....A-18 Shrike II or III, Googled it, Low and Behold

a kit popped up.  LF Models Hong Kong...resin and PE. There were only 13 A-18's built and there is a KIT!!!!!

I found some kits in my and other club members stash's and I got a $800 +- budget and spent $474 of it on

LF Models   A-18 Shrike     Full Resin (Expensive little kit)

           MPM           A-17                 IM

           Mach 2       B/RB-45C         IM

           Anigrad       C-124B            Full Resin

           Anigrad       KC-10A            Full Resin

Got a good Price and Good Shipping deal

and They are in my Hobby Room as I type this.

OK  Slopping my secret formula watercolors around the pit and stuff

           to get it weathered

    Later Folks

    Jack

Like the Bad Penny I am, I'm BAAAACK!.

Have been tied up with getting the "WOB" moving along with 6 kits now in production and I'm still focusing on my

Sundowner.

Since I'm putting pilots in and canopies down, I'm not trying to paint every switch and knob in the cockpit.

A cockpit gray, lightened black, drybrush and some 99 cent watercolors is about all .

Seat front look rough after I removed the straps and belts but there will be a pilot seating in it.

They will look better with a coat of dullcoat and some touch-up.IMG_6764_1.jpg
