toadwbg
I do have a few things missing on this kit yet (aerial antenna wire, gun tubes) , but I've decided to call it "done" for now. I also know of a couple small errors with decal placement (Felix the cat & Kill marks), seat (the F3 didn't have lap shoulder belts, just lap belts), and wrong tail wheel. Never-the-less, I present to you my Wildcat! Critique away. philtn
toadwbg
More. I should add I took the pics outdoor on a overcast afternoon. The finish is gloss with hand-brushed Future only. I did a wash with ProModeler dark. Decals are a mix- insignia was from Yellow-Wings where aircraft specific markings were from an old Microscale sheet. I painted the tail stripes. toadwbg
Although I'm happy with the finished results, the Trumpeter kit was a bear to put together. I fought almost every seam and struggled with those PE control surface hinges! Paints were Model Master Enamel 2055 Navy Blue Grey on the top and a mix of Tamiya to achieve FS16440 light grey on the bottom. The Cockpit it Tamiya X-26 Deep Green. Av8fan
I like it.. I think that it would look even better on a USN WWII carrier deck. Thanks for posting.
