LSP_Ron
A question that has probably been asked a million times but I don't recall the answer. I am building the Fisher Sea Fury and will be using the kit markings for an 803 Sqdn plane on HMCS Magnificent circ. Sept 1948. It's the early scheme with extra dk sea grey that covers the complete fuse sides, sky undersides and Royal Navy Roundels. Does anyone know if the wheel wells and gear were silver or sky? My previous build in the later dk gray/gray scheme with maple leaf roundels the wheel wells were painted underside color
maverick728470
Ron, Intel off google and a color ref says silver for the wells.Larry
Kagemusha
I'd go with sky. When they were being built the undersides, wheelbays included, would have been sprayed the same colour.
Edgar Brooks
When first painted, Sea Fury wheel wells were yellow zinc chromate, presumably for anti-corrosion. If they were repainted outside the U.K., it's anyone's guess. Edgar
