  1. HOT DARN!!! Now, just to make sure, if I choose the Trumpeter MiG-21MF that is supplied with some resin and PE, this is acceptable, correct? Regarding markings, are we looking at a/c that do or have lived? (I have a set of decals for the above mentioned, a Polish bird with Swordfish, but have never been able to pin down if one really was painted as such in real life.) Cheers, Dave
  2. WOW, look at that!! Nice pic -- You have a 109 in your back yard? Yep, deffinately need to make some adjustments. Thanks Mark.
  3. Sweet...you are refering to the dark hose that is sitting at about a 45 degree angle on the right side of the picture of the back-end of the engine, correct? (making sure we are on the same page of the same book.) Cheers, Dave
  4. Awesome, thanks. Guess I have to make some adjustments to the PE stuff that I assembled last night. Cheers, Dave
  5. Is this pretty accurate in regards to seat-belt anchor points? (In referance to the over the shoulder straps.) http://www.cybermode...s/md_32002p.jpg
  6. AH-HAH! The secret is out. And yes, that NMF 109 has always caught my attention Cheers, Dave
  7. Well, here we are, a few hours later. Is this pretty accurate in regards to seat-belt anchor points? (In referance to the over the shoulder straps.) http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/details/md/images/md_32002p.jpg Got this in the mail today....( - hmm, wonder where that came from?) Gonna need some evening out, but a cute little kit. Would love it in a 1/32, but have only found it in 1/72. Only 11 pieces. Cheers, Dave
  8. Wow! Look at you, cruising right along there. Great looking IP -- wish I could get that. When I saw the sheet you were using, Was hoping for "Rot 8" but "Rot 6" was my second hope. (yes, I look at the pictures first.) Looking forward to the finished product. (Which will be, what, Wednesday, Thursday at the latest?) Cheers, Dave
  9. Dan, Thanks for the tips. I'm wondering if I have any plexiglass hiding in the basement though. Would that be acceptable? Grant, Thank you for the tip & link. Well, only thing that is not OOB is seat-belts, there were none, not even a decal....and it just looks to weird w/o them. Solution..... Hopefully is will not be driven mad by either the assembly or installation to an already buttoned up fuselage. Until next time...(and hopefully not from the funny farm ) Cheers, Dave
  10. Wait....what is meant by "Almost"? Ahh, this should be able to harken back to the days when we built w/o all the extra stuff...all you had was out of the box...shoot, before we even heard of resin in this application. Thank you -- Y'all are gentlemen and scholars. Cheers, Dave
  11. What did you use for a wash, and how did you go about "cleaning" it out? Cheers, Dave
  12. Not much to report here...added a few do-dads to the wings. Trying the epoxy trick that Dan did with his K-4. Hope it comes out, I cut out the window already. Okay, "I need help time"....wheel wells, RLM 02? What is the best way to dirty up the wheel wells and landing gear themselves? A wash of diluted black water color? How dirty do wheel wells get? Cheers, Dave
  13. Oh, I do admire MAJ Hartmann, but the data I do attain is whatever I can find in books, periodicals, and online. I did read "The Blond Knight of Germany", but apparently there is another one I should read. His wife wrote the forward I believe.
  14. Oops...the wheels I had flat black and dry-brushed some aluminium, I'll change it accordingly this evening. thanks for the head's up. Casing chutes, gotchya. good to know about he gap, saves time and patience. Thanks Doug. Glad you like Harv. Did you put Parmesean on that popcorn? (It's really good that way.) Cheers, Dave
  15. Hmm, didn't think of that. His contact information on their website? Cheers
  16. Greetings all. Mark, Regardng the piece with the extra bump...Is it needed or will I be okay as is? Cannon, thanks for the heads up, will have to give that a whirl. (Last night was wings and elevators.) Thanks for the shots of when he had the u/w guns...at least I have someplace to start. Grant, I have the whole set that is for individual aircraft, and I have another set of 4, the Versus series. Then one day while parusing the bookshelf at the local treasure store, (Goodwill, a thrift store), I found a big book that is all of the a/c books consolidated into one. $5.00 -- Good score that day! Elevators, fiddley PE, but the fit is great. Wings, with flaps and ailerons. BTW, what is that area, forward, center, between the landing gear points with the little square openings? Office -- should I be filling that gap in between the IP and fuesalage? Visions of things to come. Cheers, Dave
  17. Okay, not much, but PE is time consuming. Assembled the flaps and ailerons with their PE hinges.... and put the wheels on. Cheers, Dave
  18. Is there any evidence out there that Hartmann ever carried the MG 151/20 wing mounted cannons on any of his aircraft that had the black tulip on? I am going to paint the tulip, need to know if it would be accurate to install the cannons. Cheers, Dave
  19. Thank you folks, greatly appreciated. Last night. A bit of paint, and a bit of assembly. Added flaps... Built Cannon, Drilled out barrel. I see taht it is off center and not to scale, but I can't find the rest of me drill bits. Speaking of the MG 151/20 cannons. Is there any evidence out there that Hartmann ever carried these on an aircraft that had the black tulip on? Help here would be great...I am going to paint the tulip, need to know if it would be accurate to install the cannons. Here is what the Wife has done. Well, that's it for now. Thanks for looking in. And again, any help with answers is appreciated beyond belief. Cheers, Dave
  20. Great work on the office furniture. I see I have a long way to go in coming close the rest of y'all. Cheers, Dave
  21. Okay, main landing gear this evening...parts together, not painted. Lost one of the four pieces that make up the torque links. Made crude replacement. My hope is that unless you are REALLY looking, it should pass unnoticed. Without further ado, Gear before line added... Gear with line added, it's rubber. Shoot of the 'fabricated" part, trying to get a downward looking shot. Clearer in this one from the first pic. Next up, paint gear and start working on wings. I need to take pics of the wife's P-51..it's 1/32 so it'll fit here. Appears that she's going to make a Jabo version. She started making bombs this evening. (Hmmmm, that just don't sound right. ) Cheers, Dave
  22. Okay... not much, but here ya go... (Oh, did a little bit of filling with putty on the spine and belly, not much, very little actually. "Zap-A-Gap" might have worked, but I have none. I use what I have. First off, the tail-wheel. had issues with the directions, So I adapted, overcame and improvised. Besides, how is the strut going to be seen when it is up in the fuselage? So, I clipped, and sanded to fit the the hole that remains after putting the tail-wheel gear door in place. Result. Started this to help me not rush through. Doing a Hartmann, late G-6, do I need to cut and add this in? Or does it really not matter? Until next time, Cheers, Dave (Oh, BTW, my beautiful wife is starting a 1/32 Hase. P-51D this evening. Hopefully, we'll get her to complete!)
  23. Okay, I know I said that this was going to be OOB...but I had to get a tiny bit of AM. It just looks wrong w/o the seat belts, so I grabbed a PE set off of e-bay. I'm sure I'll be cursing myself later because of those darn teeny tiny bits...but hey, it'll look better, right? Cheers, Dave
