  1. hi guys, JP, one of the club members did build the Fouga end of last year. Lot's of options for the different types and a good kit. Now Danny is working on the decals, given all the options you have in the box for different versions that can take a while. Here some pictures of the build waiting for decals. We intend to show it at our local exhibition and building day on Sunday 16 April. (the flyer about 16 April is in Flemish, was intended to be used only locally) You're always welcome, Jan adres : Parochiezaal Torenven (kleine zaal) Torenvenstraat 5 2560 Kessel
  2. Thanks for the correction Juggernut , I did not know that the scheme was for another type. But probably I will leave it this way, don't want it back on the shelf of doom ;-)
  3. So the shelf of doom has lost another 2 Zero's (the Pearl Harbour version was done years ago). Now I have a Zero going from 1941 (Pearl Harbour), 1943 (Rabaul) and 1945 (Japan). All the Tamiya 1/32. Weathering was kept to a minimum. (In the beginning of the war the Zero model 21 had a good quality paint job and by the end of the war (model 52) these Zero's did not last that long, correct me if this is wrong) Jan
  4. A suggestion , let's meet at our clubstand , around 11am or a different hour if that would be better. We are easy to find , a banner with BSMC. Let me know what you think. Jan
  5. I will be at the show , at the BSMC stand Jan http://www.bsmc.be/
  6. Been a while since my last post. But here a Phantom rescued from the shelf of doom. Eagle Strike decals and after market seats as the only not kit parts. Tamiya en Gunze paints , Ammo oilbrusher and drybrush for weathering. Jan
  7. Very nice Christian !!!! Another top build !! And like Ben said, hopefully we see you in Putte in December ;-)
  8. Trumpeter 1/48 F-100 finished in French markings, adapted the colours to a pictures found in a book. Made out of the box, weathering first with Flory washes and then with oil paints, works fine for me. Jan
  9. hi all, this is the old Tamiya Skyraider, still a very nice and easy build. Finished with Hataka orange paints (Vietnam set) and weathering with the Flory Models wash "dark dirt". Jan https://i.imgur.com/W8pyJgM.jpg https://i.imgur.com/OgPG6DF.jpg https://i.imgur.com/N19dyTg.jpg
  10. Between some 1/48 jets a larger scale Fiat G.50 is done. A Special Hobby kit demands some effort but it's always worth it. Masking for the markings was made by a friend. This time painted with Mig Ammo and Lifecolor acrylics. Jan
  11. he Al no real problems if you dryfit everything, the only small problem I had was the underside of the air intakes you need to fill a gap on both sides (I did ) and add some weight in the nose Jan
  12. hi guys, From the Hobby Boss 1/48 kit, simple and with some fit issues but nothing problematic. Weathering was a discovery journey to get as close as possible to a picture from that Mirage based in Djibouti. As seen on the picture this specific Mirage got a new nose giving a nice contrast to the rest of the weathered airframe. The weathering techniques used come from JM Villalba (you really need his DVDs) and Mario Eens. So hope you like it. Jan. The real Mirage. And the model after my weathering efforts.
  13. this is the nice Hasegawa RF-4EJ is 1/48. Out of the box except the ejection seats. I did not used the special markings provided in the kit. Painted with Tamiya and Gunze, weathering with oil paints and Tamiya X-20 thinner. The weathering was light to show a well maintained Phantom. Jan
  14. Finally finished the nice Hasegawa FW 190 A8. These are simple but very nice kits to build. This one is straight from the box, only addition are seat belts. Painted as usual with Tamiya and Gunze. Weathering with oil paints and Tamiya weathering sets using different techniques. Jan
  15. hi Thunda I use Tamiya and Gunze acrylics for the camo (fine layers in many colors, final layer in the correct color). For the weathering I am using the techniques from Villalba (his DVD's are a must) and Mario Eens. Materials quite simple : - a bottle with a mix of Humbrol black and brown with Tamiya X-20 thinner (you can easily remove the surplus with X-20) - Oil paints buff and faded grey (you can easily remove the surplus with X-20) - Tamiya weathering sets A and F mostly - brushes, the one with the open hairs is important for the Villalba technique to make the scatches hopes this helps and yes, it's not done in one go, many many times Jan
  16. hi guys, The FW-190 in this topic was ready, that was at least my idea when I took it to my modeling club last Friday night. But after some good discussions I was clear that more could be done, so this is what I am doing to take the weathering a step further. So this untypical topic will be about the extra weathering. If any suggestions, please fire away I will when time seal it all with a varnish. thanks Jan
