Oh! Yeah, I took the photos with my Google Nexus 5.
-
The tail is slightly longer on the trumpeter kit.
It is hard to see in the photo but the canopy if slightly distorted around where galland armor is to be attached.
The engine is probably not necessary to install. It should be possible to attach the propeller anyway.
Guns and other miscellaneous parts.
Tails and noses, full side view.
Finally oil cooler cowl inside detail, and the third making option.
-
Photo-etch. Regrettably upside down...
Galland armor.
Clear sprues. Note the two pieces for the Galland armor. Also two pieces for the sight.
The spinner. It is part of the 'kanonenboot' sprue that I suspect is common to several versions.
An inside view
I joined the trumpy and revell for comparison purposes. Here's the front view
Underside
Front shot. It is revell kit whose nose is pointing down, and the Trumpeter whose nose that point up. It is impossible to say at this stage if one or the other is wrong; given the flimsy structures they may both change form when cowlings are added.

More photos. First the wheel well
Next the somewhat overdone ailerons
Rudder. I'll probably sand it smoother.
A better shot of the decals.
Some tiny and fragile stuff on this sprue.
The exhaust are hollow, but the downside is that they need to be assembled into proper exhaust stacks.
Will post more when they are uploaded to photobucket. The app is incredibly slow!

I took a few with my phone today.
If there is any particular part you want to see I will have the opportunity to take more photos tomorrow.
Trumpeter artwork is eccentric. All those dots everywhere doesn't look convincing.
The tires are nice, but maybe not soft enough to get that weighted look.
Etched stuff, seatbelts and oil-cooler grill and such stuff (but not for wing radiators.
Galland armor is etch too.
Gun is a MK108, I am not sure it is right for the type.
Spinner shape is still unknown, but I could see the slots for the propellers had straight sides.
Unlike Hase and Rev there is no wingspar to make sure of the dihedral. Wing construction is orthodox like 48 scale models.
The sprue carrying the gun gondolas is probably from another kit. I only have this Trumpy and cannot compare, but it is not uncommon to do so.

Looks like broad bladed late propeller to me.
-
Airfix, or Revell?

Very much! Thank you!

Drawings or photo of the outer landing gear retraction mechanism of the Bf 109K-4.

The Enola Gay shook the world when she dropped the first atomic bomb, didn't she? And it would be a huge kit in 1/32, dwarfing HK:s impressive B-17. I am not sure, but I think it would be one of the biggest kits on the market. If not the biggest.
Besides, we know "the old man" like riddles and they're not hard to figure out. In this case it is hard to imagine an aircraft that would have that impact on the modeling world. It is not like we don't know about every possible subject. Therefore I think the line about shaking the marketing world alludes to the real aircraft historical impact on the world.
-
"shake up the modeling world" is the clue. You will see a B-29 in 1/32 scale alright. ZM will blow up the opposition for sure with that one!
-
"Brushfire" got something for it. There are TONS of interesting A/Cs in the many cold war conflicts. One can have the mustangs, ki-43s, mig 21/23 etc and all in exotic schemes and histories.

Well, here in Sweden the same apply about the threshold for duties and taxes. The only time, however, it bite me was when I bought three 1/48 bf 109s from a seller in Florida. He had, like a good citizen, noted the total cost on the package. It promptly got stuck in customs. First time that ever happened to me, and I have over 200 transactions on ebay and elsewhere.
-
Answer: No. The customs have no idea what the stuff is worth even if opening the box.
Only if the sender actually note it plain to see on the package will there be risk that happen.

What if get my vote. Between wars would also work. Note that the golden era would included several wars, so is not to restricted in KIT selection.
-
Also, Hobby link Japan no longer shows any K-4 for sale, nor in the 48 scale. I wonder what that means?
-
MPM? Didn't know about that shop! Thanks.
-
Hobby link Japan. 10$ shipping to Sweden!!!
-
One idea would be to pick one area where you need "improve your skills" and focus on that.
Anything would go, of course.
-
Well, it would be fitting to have on the centenary of the start of the war, but since there was one already last year it got to be with somewhat different focus perhaps?
-
I like Lees analysis. Regrettably, if he is right, there are obstacles to Trumpeter improving over time.

It was fun to do, and a way to contribute to the community.
Still, the kit deserve a proper review by someone who knows his trumpeter Messerschmitts!
(maybe I was tired of waiting:-))
I'll see if I can get a better shot of the engine cowling.
