  1. There is a local art supply store, what do I need to get so I can put the engine exahaust and gun smoke stains on the fusealage and wings. I have tried the thinned paint and cannot get it like some of the builds here. I thought it was charcoal sticks broken up then applied, but want to make sure before I get it. Thanks, Jerod
  2. I had got a ride in this bomber last year here in Cedar Rapids with my dad. It was great, a bit different than flying 172's. There was a guy there at the airport who also belongs to my dads flying group, who was talking to us about when he flew these in WWII. He was 19 years old and flying one. If I had another chance I would take another ride in one. They asked if we wanted ear plugs, we both said no, as we want to get the full affect. Hope others take in the experiance and take a ride in one. Thanks, Jerod
  3. I am looking for an resin aftermarked cocpit for my Tamiya 1/32 Phantom. Anyone have input on any. Thanks, Jerod
  4. Dan if you have others wanting it let them go for it. Just cannot wing it right now. I have great feedback and 100% positive on ebay under screen name jlynch1081. But I have a Hurst shifter I replaced from my Camaro and the Money Order is to be in today but did not, as soon as it does I will contact you again if you still have it. Thanks, Jerod

  7. It will go out on wedensday for the P-39 1/32 special hobby. Thanks, Jerod

  8. Thanks, I used a very light coat of brown, and held the airbrush farther away and it turned out great. Thanks, Jerod
  9. I would like to use masks but think they are a waste as you can only use them once. Anyone know where you can get ones that you can re-use. Thanks, Jerod
  10. I have a question as to how to weather decals on aircraft. I am looking for the dusty old look. Do I hold my airbrush back farther away and spray over them. I have tried a very light dry brushing on tanks and that looks great, but think it might be to much for aircraft. Thanks, Jerod
  11. How do you pre-order. I am in IA
  12. I am builing the Academy f-18 1/32. I want to do the pre shadding on the panel lines. The problem I have is that my Paashe airbrush does not want to paint that fine line. Can I with a brush paint the panel lines with a flat black, then put on very light coats of gray with spray paint, or should I just use a wash or a number 2 pencil and go over the panel lines. Thanks, Jerod
  13. I know what masks are, just used them. These are Verlinden 1/32 stencils, on their website they show many different ones on a large sheet. How are they used, cut out and placed on model then painted over, and pulled off to be used again, or are they a one time use. Thanks, Jerod
  14. I see that more people are using stencils. How are they used. I have been using the box supplied decals and aftermarket ones for years. This must be something new I was not aware of. Looks like you just place over area then paint them on. If this is correct, I am getting some, as that will lokk a lot better than decals. Do they make them for the US stars and markings., and where to get them. Thanks, Jerod
  15. I am building the same kit right now, using the Phoneiex cockpit set, looks good with the belts. Thanks, Jerod
  16. Ok, That is what I thought. I need to figure out what is wrong with my aribrush. Might get a new regulator. What PSI do you like to use. Thanks, Jerod
  17. I am thinking about pre-shading my Trumpeter p-38. Since my Pasche Airbrush is not working right, and cannot get the stream of paint that narrow, using a black Sharpi marker doing the lines before painting. Any thoughts on this before I try it. Thanks, Jerod
  18. Still waiting to hear from Trumpeter in China. I will re-e-mail them. I have the Big Ed kit from Eduards, but they do not have the intake screens in it. Thanks, Jerod Or if anybody has a set they did not use from the Trumpeter kit, please let me know as I would buy them from you. Thanks, Jerod
  19. I have the Trumpeter p-38 1/32. It is an excellant kit. After inventoring the kit, I appears I am missing the intake screens that are loacted just under the prop, and the screens on the tailboom, and the dive brakes. They are photo etched. Question is how do I get new/replacement ones. Thanks, Jerod
