  1. Hi, I have been watching the forums over the last couple of years and had some great help from numerous people regarding my various questions etc. I returned to modeling around 4 years ago after having last completed a 1/72nd Airfix Hunter at the age of 13. I have several partially built builds - an MDC Typhoon (just waiting for a replacement elevator to move on), a FM Halifax, Xtrakit Canberra PR9. Fisher Sea Fury and the MDC Tony. I am hoping to get two things out of making this post: 1) Feedback and critique, 2) Impetus to complete a model! and 3) says thanks to what is an amazing community of people. By the way Radu, your models are amazing and MDC have the best casting I have seen with incredible customer service (I snapped both of the fuselage halves being an idiot and MDC replaced them at no cost). The following photos are not great and all of the shots show assemblies that are incomplete. Incomplete instrument panel with placed rudder pedals, unpainted straps and no gunsight or guns! Floor pan with seat fitted - but no armoured headrest Floor pan - with lots of pieces missing including cocking handles etc Right console - actually pretty much complete Left console with floor pan wedged in Left console with no floor pan Thanks for looking and for your comments
  2. Hi, Over the last few years of service all of the SHAR's that I saw at airshows or Navy days at Portsmouth (I know they changed the name to something else but cannot remember what it was) on board the carriers actually all looked pretty dirty and quite heavily weathered I have a ton of photos stored somewhere that show this over a number of events. Regards
  3. Actually I do not believe that is true, whilst I am no expert I have built the MDC Typhoon and have the Revell Typhoon 1B and they have exactly the same size tailplane. I have also checked my references and the Typhoon Car door and 1B all appear to have the same size tailplane. I have an order in for a second MDC Typhoon to do a car door 1B using the canopy from the Revell kit. Regards
  4. Hi there, Well my first Sea Fury arrived 2 days ago and like everyone else I have to say it is superb and just what I expected after the Panther and Cougar. It is better that the Typhoon (a magnificent model in its own right ) but the instructions alone from Paul make this one a winner. I love MDC and Accurate Armour stuff - but I do wish these folks would do the level of detail in the instructions for these models. We are very fortunate to have two companies (Fisher and MDC) so devoted to our hobby who have taken the risks with their livelyhoods to shower us with the sort of quality of models that not so long ago I would never have dreamed of being in a position to build them. I am build the first Sea Fury as the "Mig killer" and the second one for the RCN. If you do not have this model - rush and get it as you will not regret it when you have it in your maws. Take care and happy modelling. Regards, ColinR
  5. I am a huge fan of the quality of Fisher models - I have the Panther and Cougar already. I had ordered the Sea Fury as it is my all time favourite prop fighter but now I have ordered another one tonight. I did this because I believe in supporting the best resin aircraft manufacturer out there - for anyone who has not built a Fisher model I urge you to do so as you will not be disappointed. From the quality of the instructions, written by someone who has built the model all the way through to the fit and quality of detail and mouldings. I now get to build a RCN as well as a FAA fighter! ...and no I am not related in any way and do not live in the same country as Fisher Pattern Models. Regards
  6. Hi, I know I have seen this somewhere but I cannot for the life of me remember where! can someone point me in the direction of the model company in the UK that has produced the flaps and engine set for the P-40? Does anyone have any good plans for the P-40 with regard to panel lines and rivets? Thanks for your help. Regards,
  7. Hi, Thanks for your response. I love the new nose so please be assured that I will not be changing that. I will go back to model and do as you suggest in your post. Kind regards ColinR
  8. Hi, Looking for advice. has anyone taken the Matchbox 1/32nd MK22/24 Spitfire and MDC/Warbirds Update set which gives you a new nose and prop and successfully grafted them together? I have issues where the cross section of the new nose is a lot different to the model, so much so that I cannot see, even with a tube of filler how you would graft these two together? Appreciate any help from anyone who has been through this. Regards
  9. Please send them to MDC - I have bought 2 of these models on the basis of your thread and will buy all of the update sets. As a matter of interest - do you know why MDC did not go the whole way and release a complete Hurricane kit with your updates and thier wings etc? Keep up the great work - a joy to behold.
