jimbo
Hi everyone; I have a paint question. Is Tamiya Flat Base # X-21 good to use as a clear flat coat, or only to mix with, and flatten, other colors? I'm looking for a good clear acrylic flat. Would I thin it with alcohol and water for airbrushing? Thanks in advance; Jimbo
Astro32
Tamiya flat base is only for flattening other paints. It can't be used by itself. Works great with Future! Regards, Ross
DMurph
jimbo, I use Pollyscale clear flat in acrylic paint, But the best clear flat for my money is that good old clear dullcoat in the good old testors can, but then that isn't acrylic paint.. Mix 1:3 ( Base:Future) for very flat 1:10 flat 1:15 Satin According to Swanny who sniffs future and speads it on his VitaBrits. They all work for me...I just use whats in the bottle after considering what I have underneath as paint. HTH
