Derek B
Hi Dave (and Guys), This should give you a good laugh...if only for the '118118' late 70's/early 80's style hair and moustache (when I had some left that is!) . Cheers Derek
Derek B
And another of the finished item, which was displayed at the 1985 Royal Tournament at Earls Court Olympia in London for a very short while.

LSP_Matt
Very nice. Modelling in uniform.....bit weird! Getting paid to model because you're wearing a uniform. smart!!
Derek B
S'pose it does seem kinda wired at first, but it's no different to wearing overalls to maintain your vehicle (and is usually just as messy!). I volunteered for the task of model maker for the RAF Exhibition Production Flight back in 1985. It is pretty well a specialised duty, where you are 'mis-employed' from your normal role for one tour of duty (about two and a hlaf years), and you can volunteer for it once only . I do not know if the post still exists these days, but it sure was fun, even though you were always 'maxed out' trying to meet dead lines...it's a bit like what Jay does now, but for less money . Can anyone guess what aircraft the wingtip belongs to in in front of the Camel in the black and white picture, and what scale it is?
