Tamiya AS-12 vs. Tamiya LP Flat Aluminum

Recommended Posts

I'm ready to paint my 1/32 Mustang and have used AS-12 in the past for a NMF look.  I'm thinking about using Tamiya's lacquer paint flat aluminum (can't remember what number it is) and was wondering if anyone has used it for a NMF finish and also what the best thinner to paint ratio is for Tamiya LP paints.

Any thoughts on this are appreciated.

Thanks!

If you go for the Tamiya LP-11 Silver, it's really close to the AS-12 that you're looking for. It can thin with Mr. Leveling Thinner, but Tamiya also makes a Lacquer Thinner Retarder Type specifically for their paints. I'd thin around 50:50
