Spitfire Mk11a suggested Dot Filter colours

I'd like to try some oil weathering techniques on my Revell Spitfire build.

Somewhere I saw a technique that blended dots of artist oils with a brush. Small amounts of different colour oils were applied and then brushed and spread very thinly.

I'm not sure what colours to use on the green, brown and sky color scheme.

Any suggestions?

Hi Craig.

The short answer is: any^_^

The key is blending the colours sufficiently so that they are no longer apparent.

Just like pre-shading this technique relies on subtlety.

I tried it here

I first saw ChukW use the technique. It's worth having a read through his threads if you haven't done so already. Not only is he a master modeller but he's an awesome artist and his builds are some of the most entertaining and informative around.
