Kais
LSPers, My interest has turned towards ERLA G10 490 249 Red 8 Gisella and ERLA G14/AS 490 642 Red 2 Rita. I trust the expert call out that Rita is a G14/AS, but when both are 490 xxx block, how does logically line up?
pvanroy
Yes, "Rita" is without doubt a G-14/AS, but the W.Nr looks suspect, as the 490 130 - 490 799 block was a G-10 and G-10/R6 production block. As far as I remember, Lorant and Goyat in their JG 300 magnum opus do not give a W.Nr for "Rita", and it also does not appear to be visible in any photos of the machine I know of. Erla produced 50 G-14/AS machines in the 460 300 - 460 670 block, and 73 G-14/AS in the 461 100 - 461 999 block, so maybe the supposed W.Nr. for this aircraft is based on a typo/mix-up of one of these G-14 blocks with the 490 XXX block of the G-10. Kurt4
I modeled Rita in 1/48 a few months ago. I visited a Stormovik site and WW2 aircraft that said the Rita was WNr490642.-John Kais
