Barry
Here are several photos of my Tamiya 1/350 USS Fletcher I completed many moons ago. I used both Gold Metal Models and Toms' Model works PE sets. I made barrels and ammo drums for the 20mm's from styrene rod as well as new depth charges. I added structural supports under aft 40mm gun director tub as well as bridge wings. I really enjoy building ship models maybe I should have been a sailor like the majority of my family's veterans. Barry

robtmelvin
Barry, very nice work indeed. I'm finishing up a Tamiya Fletcher right now and have some photos of the WIP posted here as well. Not nearly as nice as yours, though. I've used a mix of the Eduard dedicated PE set as well as the Yankee Model Works generic Fletcher Class PE set. Also SeaMaster's barrels for the 5/38" main armament. Used the Lion Roar PE for the twin 40mm Bofors. Not perfect, but I'm pleased with the results. What did you use to create your blast bags? I'm still debating whether or not to try to add them before I pronounce it complete. Thinking about using Apoxy Sculpt if I do try. Congratulations on a very impressive build, Bob

robtmelvin
Barry, thanks for the info. I may give that a try. Certainly turned out well on your Fletcher! Congratulations again on a great build. Bob
Barry
Thanks Bob, I hope the glue works as well for you. I read about it in a build article in Fine Scale Modeler. Barry

Barry I'd advise taking care when assembling the five main guns. I didn't and ended up with all five barrels being off center.
