what colors are the Macchi 202?

Recommended Posts

Building the 21st century 202 and I need to know what colors to use in Tamiya for the version with the smoke rings? the kit only call for other brands of paint? I like to use Tamiya for the exteriors as for me it goes down well and my local hobby shop has a good supply, any help would be great!

Thanks,

Bob

Bob

This Tamiya site cross references with Humbrol

If you check out the site I added for Erwin (Italian colors) most are humbrol, but if you check against what

the humbrol numbers are you can get (hopefully) the correct Tamiya paint

Hi Bob,

Did a bit of checking and here's what I have found.

(I had a SAM magizine some where that had a C 202 Folgore in desert colors)

Italian WWII colors especially toward the latter part of Mediterranian Conflict on the side of Germany

were often Luftwaffe colors. So having said that

The following colors (RLM) were used on the C 202 RLM 79 Sand yellow (FS 35448) TamFX-60

RLM 80 Olive Green (FS 34079) TamFX-61

(FS 34052) TamXF-13

Lower Fuslage RLM 78 Himmel Blau (FS 35414) TamXF-23

Italian Colors called for Nocciola Chiaro 4 (FS 30219) TamXF-52

Verde Oliva Scuro 2 (FS 34052) TamXF-13

Lower Fuslage Grigio Azzurro Chiaro 1 (FS 36076) TamXF-63

HTH

Regards

Thanks! as I said from that cross over list I couldnt figure anything out but this nails it, at first I tried XF-59 which is desert yellow but that seemed a bit on the dark side will try some FX-60 , also was not sure if the underside was a blue or a stright grey but again this is now cleared up, thanks again and I'll be on my way to my local hobby shop in the morning.

Bob. :)
