  8. OK No P-38F Hmmmm...so why don't I just build a Mosquito then? Yes... put me down for the Revell Mosquito from the good ole' stash pile. Jon aka fastzx
  9. Radub, Jon here... I am in the process of reworking my old Revell KI-61 and Turning it into a KI-100-I-Ko. I do not have any good shots of the item behind the pilot's headrest/between the rollover stucture. Is it a radio component? and do you happen to know where I could get a better look at what exactly it is? I appears to be a cylindrical object about the size of a can with wires or tubing sprouting from it. By the way Dave at UMI RESIN said he would vac the canopy I needed for my Shinden J7W1 (I put that on the back burner till finals in art school were over last month) Thanks for offering to vac it for me. I thought the KI-61 to KI-100 rework would go much quicker than it has so far. Any help or even pointing me in the right direction on this mysterious object behind the pilot's head would be greatly appreciated so I can get the cockpit buttoned up. Thanks for any help you may offer. Jon Payne aka fastzx
  10. Guys where can I get thus tiny little fighter for a great price? Anybody have a secret hobby ordering site that this plane is not $40.00? I NEVER have any luck at hobby loby after they put all the hobby shops around here out of business - they are always 3 to 4 times the normal prices for there models. HELP!!!! Jon

  13. Chris not to rain on your parade BUT I was a technical Illustrator for GE j-79 turbojet for over 8 years. The GE J-79 is an awsome engine and has been used in tons of early 2nd generation jets. Jet engines have 3 main part to them the compressor, cumbustor, and the tubine sections also known as the "suck" "bang" and "blow" sections. Not that anyone else would notice BUT each alternating blade sesection of the Compressor section at the front of the engine has what they call "stator vanes" meaning only alternating rows of blades turn while every other section of blades or vanes is angled slighty differently and remain "stationary" hence "stator vanes". This causes the air to get compressed and reach high temperatures before fuel is introduced into the process. Sorry but thought YOU should know (no one else looking will care) they will be in awe of your modeling skills. otherwise great ides and a super job on the detail work. (sorry just a VERY nitpicky thing to tell you) only trying to give a little back to the hobby. Jon LSP fastzx
  14. I got a 1/32 scale B-17 for trade made by Sterling Anybody interested? goto the trader forum Jon
  15. davidjaymason, That is exactly what I needed. Would it be possible to email me the same drawing at a higher resolution such as 300LPI or 600LPI ?? Or tell me where to go to find that drawing if it came from the internet? And I want to thank everyone else for the input they gave also Jon Payne
  16. OK I have a Ki-100 conversion in progress and I need cross section plans of the cowl to fuselage blend Found about all I could on the net but still don't have good front view exact station sections of cowl to fuselage blend and some of the stuff I do have is written in Japanese (go figure). Is there anyone out there who has done this same conversion? and has different and/or better references than I have found and could reccomend where to find them? Don't worry I did not cut up a pristine NIB KI-61 for my conversion (it was a trashed kit) My version is the KI-100-I radial engined model without the cut down spine even though the greenhouse glass is slightly diferent. If I remember correctly maybe Radu or someone else may have what I need for the cowl cross section? Any help and or plans would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jon Payne LSP fastzx
  17. Larry, Thanks for the decals!! I got them yesterday and it looks like I can use them for the P-38's boom stars. I've scrounged around and found some that will work for the wing stars so I'm all set to finish the early version of the P-38. Thanks again Larry you always come through when we need you. It is a pleasure to know a great hobbyist like you. Thanks again, Jon Payne LSP fastzx
  18. Larry I sent you my address PM offline if you have the size stars I need Thanks! Jon Payne
  19. Chris, here are photos of the P-38 conversion and a photo of my Revell/Hasegawa P-51B combo.
  20. Chris, the set did not contain any instructions and after looking at Jerry's P-38 parts I can say they are quite different from his, so I don't know who the maker is on this conversion set. Jon
  21. Larry, Stars would be greatly appreciated!! I am doing Rex Barber's regular mount (white 110). let me know what I owe you for the stars and I will send you my address. Larry you are always there to help out a fellow modeler. Thanks for all your help in the past as well. Jon Payne LSP fastzx
  22. Chris, I am not sure if it is a Rutman or not, I think I got it from Dan last year. It came with engine nacelles, radiators, one piece spoked wheels with tread and a vac windscreen. Jon
