  1. Ted, the F-40 wing was a 6-3 wing with extended tips and slats. Here is a link to the Duncan's Sabre Website that could be of some help: http://f-86.tripod.com/wings.html Cheers
  2. Tim W, the IAF operated the following variants of the Mirage (other than the Kfir) IIIC : converting the revell kit (which is basically a IIIE) is quite involved, as you will have to change the tail section (the engine had a different exhaust, which was longer and smaller in diameter), remove the ventral bulge and replacing it with a smaller one with a strake. The instrument panel would be different too. Nesher/Dagger : was an unauthorized copy of the french Mirage 5 (equipped with a smaller navigation radar in a pointed nose). You can obtain the Nesher by using the older Revell Mirage 5 kit, that includes that nose option. If you have the recently reissued box (the same that I have), you could obtain the M5 nose by extensively reworking the recon nose of the IIIR, or vacuum forming a new one. For the kfir there's a conversion set issued by CAM, but I think one can convert it from scratch, with a lot of work Cheers
  3. Erwin, I've checked with my hurri model, the wing roundel is just ok... for the fuselage one a 1/48 version of the same roundel would be the right size as 48/32=1,5 and 38"/25"=1,52... close enough regarding the "chardon d'ecosse" marking maybe DACO decals produces some sheet for the mirage 5BA from which the emblem can be retrieved... cheers P_F
  4. Hi Erwin here's what I've found about hurricane's roundels Upper wing roundels: In the "drole de guerre" period, the RAF hurricanes wore the 49" upper wing roundels type B (those blue/red) Fuselage roundels: they were 35" diameter red /white/blue, either with yellow surround or not Fin markings: from my knowledge of military's love for "uniformity", I think that an effort was done to make the planes looking the same as the original belgians ones, so I tend to prefer the "RAF markings painted over" option The belgian roundels size was 38" wing and 25" fuselage, so i think that belgian roundels of these sizes were painted in the same position as the RAF ones, with the remaining part of the RAF roundels simply painted over with standard Dark Green/Dark Earth paint, that the belgian air force also used on their originally supplied hurricanes. Cheers P_F
  5. Hi Erwin as far as I know from my sources, Belgium had only two hurricanes fitted with 3 bladed prop. They were RAF planes landed in belgium in error and incorporated in the aviation militaire. Unluckily their serial number is unknown. Regarding the wing roundels, after a delve in my books I too came out with empty hands. I think that the roundels on these aircraft were simply painted over the RAF ones (this is my "best educated guess", though...) Cheers P_F
