  1. Actually i did not. The kit comes with all the resin parts needed for the spartan cockpit. The aircraft did not have much in the cockpit as is, so there arent much detail to add and the parts that comes with it is more than enough to make it look nice and busy.
  2. Thanks Maru. Thanks to Mr Surfacer, sanding sticks, putty and elbow grease it can be done....at least its heavy enough now, it wont blow away in a wind gust....
  3. Thanks Jason. Too bad there arent more VVS kits out there, i can imagine myself building a good Pe-2 in 1/32 scale or even a La-5 or 7.
  4. Thanks Tony. It took some time to get it done. Used a lot of Mr Surfacer to get it done.
  5. Any idea what markings you will be using on it?
  6. The river detail is actually quite subtle for being a Trumpeter, no deep trenches, just about Tamiya/Hasegawa style.
  7. Dry fit, dry fit, dry fit, dry fit....and then dry fit. Apart from that, it goes together pretty good as long as you pay attention to the seam for the upper and lower wing. That is where the big problem is. Lots and lots of fitting/sanding/fitting.
  8. Thanks Kev, just a brain fade from my part.
  9. The kit is straight out of box. I used Barracuda Decals to get the 112 Sq markings with the sharkmouth. Kit is excellent, perfect fit, easy to build. I highly recommend it for any P-40 afficionado!
  10. It is the Azure kit, straight out of box. Quite a bit of filler needed on all joints, but overall the kit looks like the real thing once completed.
  11. That is a great model in a very nice finish. I am happy to see one built. I actually helped out with the painting instructions for Bert when the kit was originaly released. He sent me one of the first ones, of course it had the major shrink right behind the cockpit. Its in my waiting to be built pile. Hope to see more of your models, the Me 110 looks really good.

    RP-47B

Here is my Monogram P-47D converted to the earlier P-47B. Since the B version was classed as Restricted, the correct designation is RP-47B. Main differences for the B model are; Forward swept antenna mast 8 inch shorter after the cowling Flat belly Curtis Electric cuffed 4-blade propeller The model was shorted between the cowling and the exhaust to get the correct length, the underside was sanded down to make it flatter than the D model and the antenna was scratch built and mounted in the correct position and angle. The prop was reshaped to the early thin bladed version with smaller cuffs. Models raised panel lines were removed and the model got engraved panel lines instead. Used Xtra Color acrylic faded OD for the top and Neutral Gray for the bottom. Decals are Verlinden rub-on and roundels are from the spare box. It's a quick and very easy conversion and using the cheaper Monogram kit, it wont break your wallet either.
