  1. I guess I was sort of an original -if not a far-fetched dreamer when I asked for: 1/32 Dornier DO 17Z 1/32 Kawanishi KI 45 'Nick' 1/32 Hawker Typhoon Mk I -not precisely an original, but I think a good fit for Hasegawa since they already make a 1/48 1/32 SB2-C Helldiver 1/32 B-17 G Boeing Flying Fortress (although being from Memphis TN I should have voted for an F model)
  2. hummmmm. I'm having the sneaking suspicion that Trumpeter did the molds. Not that that is a bad thing, it's just that I was planning on saving money by not having to buy modeling putty
  3. I've ordered it, thanks Ron. If you happen to be one of the judges at whatever contest I enter the kit please cut me some slack!
  4. Ron, Charles, Thanks for your help. 1/16" difference, I can live with that. But I think the hub is the same -4 spokes, right? should have been more specific.
  5. Great question. My answer: Why choose? It's best to have options. I, like most of you, suffer from AMS, but there are times when I really need a quick build and still expect to see a well-detailed airplane as a result. Think of it as a way to satisfy the craving and keep the interest alive. High end kits fit this latter need. Although I will admit that the most satisfaction I've gotten from modeling was when I took a dog kit (like the Monogram P-51D razorback) and brought it up to acceptable standards. Would it look as good as say, a Tamiya kit of the same caliber as their Zero/Spit? Most likely not; it would lack the uniformity of the rivets, panel lines, etc that can only be achieved with years of practice -which I haven't yet! For the record, I'm in agreement with all of everyone's statements, good to know I'm not a screwball after all
  6. Was wondering. If not, can I still perform modifications? Don't have the dough needed to get the PCM kit, so doing the Revell instead, in search of aftermarket items that I cannot scratchbuild, or at least not easily. Photo of wheels
  7. Great looking kit. How close is this kit to production or are there any tweaks, refinements being made?
