There is some much detail in this kit its hard as to where do I start, but wait, you cart see it, it’s all covered up, well at least I know it's there. the instruction book alone is a work of art, brilliant kit enjoy.

Here’s my latest build the 1/32 Trumpeter F-1D, using reskit undercarriage, which I have to say is just amazballs with the amount of detail they have managed to get on them, the reskit engines are just amazing, and quinta cockpit hope you like the out come paintes used was a mixture of AK /mig/ and mr colour Mike

This is the Revell The Heinkel He 111 it is a German airliner and bomber designed by Siegfried and Walter Günter at Heinkel Flugzeugwerke in 1934. Through development, it was described as a "wolf in sheep's clothing". its a big kit when finished all painted with MRP paints Enjoy Mike

1/32 Tamiya F-16C Blizzard
miketippingmodels replied to miketippingmodels's topic in Ready for Inspection
Hi Rod thanks for the comments, first I painted the seat black, then when dry painted it with PVA glue, this drys clear, and whilst it was wet, I sprinkled to black simulated coal dust which I purchased for my local model rail way shop , it works a treat, or if not available use sanded plastic dust, but that would need to be painted after Mike -
1/32 Tamiya F-16C Blizzard 64th Aggressor Squadron, 57th Wing, Nellis AFB, NV. F-16C+ Fighting Falcon, depicting the Weapons Center flagship in the Blizzard camouflage. This was a joy to build no issues no problems, I did use the Reskit engine nozzle, as the kit supplied one is a bit poor on detail. I also used the Quinta cockpit detailing set, all pained with Mr colour paints, I did the ejector seat to represent the fur line seats you sometimes see on these aircraft. Enjoy Mike

1/32 Hasegawa Nakajima Ki-84 type 4 fighter Hayate. The Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate is a single-seat fighter flown by the Imperial Japanese Army Air Service in the last two years of World War II. The Allied reporting name was "Frank"; the Japanese Army designation was Army Type 4 Fighter. After the war, the Hayte was brought back to the sates for study and testing, and evaluation, where it was found to be the best Japanese fighter aircraft of the war. This kit from Hasegawa was a dream to build, some very good detail to rival Tamiya, all painted with Mr colour solvent paints.

Airfix 1/24 scale Hawker Typhoon Mk.1B The Hawker Aircraft Typhoon was single-seat, fighter-bomber designed against Air Ministry Specification F.18/37 which was eventually issued in March 1938. A year earlier however (March 1937), Hawker Aircraft had pre-empted its issue by producing designs ahead of its eventual release. Initial prototypes built to the specification were named Hawker Tornado and its story runs along very similar lines to that of the Typhoon. Affectionately known as the ‘Tiffie’, the Hawker Typhoon was intended as a high-speed, high-altitude interceptor-fighter to replace the Hawker Hurricane and the Vickers Supermarine Spitfire. The Hawker Typhoon however, was dimensionally designed larger than the Spitfire to accommodate newer power-plants and the type was evolved around the use of the powerful 'H-block' Napier Sabre 24-cylinder sleeve-valve engine and the 'X-block' Rolls-Royce Vulture engine. Subsequent aircraft were often referred to as the 'N' and the 'R' after their relative engine manufacturer. This is the Airfix 1/24 scale Hawker Typhoon Mk.1B The kit went together rather well, with only a minimal amount of filler being used. This aircraft was sprayed with MRP paints, and no decals we're used , its all masks which I cut using tamyia masking sheets. I need to say a big thank you to Steve@drycotetechnolagy, SMART-FX I had originally purchased this base back in 2015, and Steve was on hand to help me set the base up and update the sound effects. See the fully working engine below https://youtu.be/YQ6VZrLwxck

1/32 Tamiya F-15E Strike Eagle
miketippingmodels replied to miketippingmodels's topic in Ready for Inspection
you are correct I am still waiting on these to arrive so good eye and spot , Mike -
F-15E Strike Eagle Mission The F-15E Strike Eagle is a dual-role fighter designed to perform air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. An array of avionics and electronics systems gives the F-15E the capability to fight at low altitude, day or night and in all weather. Features The aircraft uses two crew members, a pilot and a weapon systems officer. Previous models of the F-15 are assigned air-to-air roles; the "E" model is a dual-role fighter. It has the capability to fight its way to a target over long ranges, destroy enemy ground positions and fight its way out. The aircraft's navigation system uses a laser gyro and a Global Positioning System to continuously monitor the aircraft's position and provide information to the central computer and other systems, including a digital moving map in both cockpits. The APG-70 radar system allows aircrews to detect ground targets from long ranges. One feature of this system is that after a sweep of a target area, the crew freezes the air-to-ground map then goes back into air-to-air mode to clear for air threats. During the air-to-surface weapon delivery, the pilot is capable of detecting, targeting and engaging air-to-air targets while the WSO designates the ground target. The low-altitude navigation and targeting infrared for night, or LANTIRN, system allows the aircraft to fly at low altitudes, at night and in any weather conditions, to attack ground targets with a variety of precision-guided and unguided weapons. The LANTIRN system, consisting of two pods attached to the exterior of the air craft, gives the F-15E unequaled accuracy in weapons delivery day or night and in poor weather. The navigation pod contains terrain-following radar which allows the pilot to safely fly at a very low altitude following cues displayed on a heads-up display. This system also can be coupled to the aircraft's autopilot to provide "hands off" terrain-following capability. Between April to October of 2018, several F-15Es from the 494th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron (the "Panthers") deployed to an undisclosed location in the Middle East to support Coalition Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve, tasked with striking Islamic State targets in Iraq and Syria. While deployed, the Panthers completed nearly 2,000 missions, over 10,000 flying hours, employing more than 500 precision-guided munitions in support of US Central Command operations. On their return to Lakenheath at the end of the deployment, the aircraft were seen sporting some very striking nose art and mission markings. This is the Tamyia F-1FE 1/32 kit which is a dream to build, painted with Tamyia acrylics, and features 2 x Reedoak figures, this aircraft is based at RAF Lakenheath

love how you have done this really nice Mike -
1/32 Revell Spitfires (It's a squadron scramble sir, don't be daft we have just come down) 1/32 Revell (squadron scramble) The mega build is finished, 4 x 1/32 spitfires 1 x hobby boss, with the engine exposed, and 3 Revell kits one being the technics kit with lights sound and rotating propeller. The hobby boss was a dream to build, no fuss, just went together very easily. The Revell kits are ok, apart from the fit is a bit iffy, and the Technics kit, well you pay your money and take your chance with this, its basically the same kit as the other two, with wires and electrics, but no allowance has been made for all the extra bits, so you must get you're thinking cap on, but we overcome. All the figures are from ICM apart from 2 which are resin from Dave Allen david.allen@wingscockpitfigures.com , I think he’s retired now, I know I have had the pilots for some years. All were painted with MIG acrylic colours, which I have to say are brilliant, thank you MIG. And the base was from my good friend Mario Catania who worked to my sketch and measurements, this whole diorama is 800mm x 800mm which is in two halves. Any gaps will be eliminated on the final assembly. This is a dry run set up, which will now be packed up, and I will reassemble and fix everything in place in Mumbi later this year when it will be set in a glass case in an RAF themed bar. Enjoy Mike

Guys here is an update on the spitfire mega build, 2nd one finished, this is the Hobby boss Kit, which is a nice kit Mike
-
I don't normally post to much WIP but this is a different scenario. this is a 4 build spitfire diorama , consisting of 3 x Revell and 1 x hobby boss Spitfire, with one spitfire having a rotating propel and lights, along with around 20 figures, plus pilots, this will all go on 800mm x 800mm base which will then be encased in a glass case and become a coffee table.

1/32 Trumpeter F-14D Tomcat
miketippingmodels replied to miketippingmodels's topic in Ready for Inspection
thanks for all your kind comments Guys thank you Mike -
This is the TRUMPETER 1/32 Tomcat, a lovely kit is so may ways, detail is fantastic, but you do need to take care on a few areas. I built this using the Aires engine nozzles and the Eduard cock pit detail set, and 2 x Aires ejection seats, all painted with MRP paints. 2003 was one of many milestones for the "Bounty Hunters." The path from work-ups to combat ops to Naval Air Station Lemoore was no easy journey. Accomplishing the tasks required the hard work and professionalism of all aircrew and personnel. In 2003, VF-2 was deployed aboard the USS CONSTELLATION with CVW-2 and participated in Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, SOUTHERN WATCH, and IRAQI FREEDOM, flying over 2000 combat hours and 483 sorties with over 320,000 pounds of ordnance expended. On 28 February 2003, during Operation SOUTHERN WATCH, Bullet 111, flown by CDR Dave "Burner" Burnham and LT Justin "Donger" Hsu, delivered the first F-14D JDAM in combat. VF-2's behind-the-scenes efforts were the driving force behind the early release of the Operational Flight Program (OFP) D04. The "Bounty Hunters" worked hand-in-hand with former Bullet LT Ken “Norm” Bates, VX-31, VX-9, Pax River, and the Class Desk to ensure that the F-14D community would have its badly needed JDAM capability in time for Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Due to the foresight and persistent efforts of VF-2, all three deployed F-14D squadrons were ready for the war. After the long trip across the Pacific, VF-2's May fly-off ended 30 years of flying the F-14. However somber the moment was, the aircrew and maintainers were anxious to recharge from cruise and meet the new challenges that lay ahead. As the squadron made its way back across the states for its fly-in at NAS Oceana, Bullet 100 of VF-2, flown by LCDR Kurt "Webstur" Frankenberger and CDR Doug "Boog" Denenny, was met by Bullet 100 of VFA-2, one of the jets that they would be flying in a few short months. As the two jets joined up, the bright red, white, and blue Langley stripes painted on both aircraft made for a memorable photo op that marked the end of an era as well as an awesome preview of what was to come. On 1 July 2003, VF-2 was officially re-commissioned as VFA-2, thus beginning transition training to the F/A-18F Super Hornet.

1/32 Academy F-18 VFC-12 "Fighting Omars" This was built using Quinta studios cock pit decals, and aires ejector seat, its painted using MRP paints. I have to say overall its not a bad kit, I would say its better than the Trumpeter kit, but they both have flaws. One thing I didn’t like is the very small attachment that your given for the tail fins, it really is bad, but as modellers we adapt and over come. Fighter Squadron Composite 12, also known as the "Fighting Omars", is a United States Navy Reserve fighter squadron based at NAS Oceana. It provides adversary training to East Coast Navy air wings. VFC-12 reports to Tactical Support Wing, a component of the Naval Air Force Reserve

Hi thanks for the kind comments, yes all my builds are commissions, I haven't thought about posting a "how-to" never been asked before , but if I get time on my up and coming F-14 build I will let you know, its a replacement for the salt technique which is very messy, and I think gives a better result Mike -
1/32 Trumpeter EA-18G GROWLER

Hi Alain thanks for the comments, re the mottling effect, I use a back base, then using Trinity splatter templates ( but you can make your Owen using paper, and just cit out random patterns) I spray light coats of white and light grey, sometimes brown, you would need to experiment. Then using MRP paints lightly spray over the mottling, until the desired effect is achieved, I use MRP as they are very thin and allow a better coverage, hope that helps, shout if you need any help. EA-18G GROWLER VAQ -141 “Shadowhawks” former Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron 141 This is the 1/32 Trumpeter kit, which isn’t bad if you compare it to the new Revell kits. This was built with the red fox cockpit, and Aires ejector seats, and resin engine nozzles and was painted using a combination of MRP and Hataka paints, enjoy Mike
