Gentlemen:
I am building a 1/32 model of the Unlimited racer "Czech Mate" using Special Hobby's Yak 3 kit as a starting point. The forward fuselage will consist of vacuum- formed panels to accommodate the Vector R-2800 engine I have chosen for the kit. ( I also intend to vacuum-form the turtledeck as well as the canopy from wood bucks I will make myself). I also intend to use one of Paul Fisher's props from his Race 232 Sea Fury .
My questions:
1. Does anybody have any good pictures if the engine/ ancillary area of this airplane, up to the cockpit?
2. I am building my own vacuum forming machine, and would like to know any recommendations you all may have for a heating element to soften the styrene sheet.
3. Is a small Shop-Vac sufficient to supply the vacuum to the forming unit?
Any help would be appreciated as this is rather a large project.
