  1. Folks, This is my attempt at the Tamiya F16. Conversion set from Isra Cast Decals From Isra Decal Paints From Ammo Mig This has been kicking around my bench for over ten years anf I finally got around to finishing it. Decals and conversion were bought at the same time as the model. A great kit which I enjoyed building. I had a few issues with the decals which came apart in water and were a bit of a nightmare to put on. This could be down to their age. I cannot vouch for complete accuracy as I am not an expert on the subject. It was a little rushed at the end as I was finishing it for the Irish Model Soldire Scoiety show it Dublin. I was pleasantly surprised when it picked up Bronze it its class. Hope you enjoy. Regards Michael
  2. Got it at Christmas. An excellent read.
  3. That's great thank you. Michael
  4. Folks a question for the B17 experts. Apologies if it has already been asked. Is it possible to use the HK B17F as a basis for the RAF MkII? Regards Michael
  5. Paul, Thank you very much appreciated. You did the hard work. I just put it together. Regards Michael
  6. Thanks Mike, I thought it was a bit shiny out of the can. As they were painted silver and not natural metal I wanted to tone it down a bit. 502 being a Reserve Squadron I guessed that they would tend to keep their machines quite clean. I gave it two very light coats of thinned Tamiya semi gloss clear X35. Still has a bit of a shine but not too much. My first attempt at painting silver. Hopefully not looking too bad. Regards Michael
  7. Folks, This is my take on the Meteor T7. Built using the HK Meteor, Paul Fisher's fantastic T7 Conversion set and markings using MalMayfield's fantastic Miracle Masks. I wanted to do this for a long time and in these markings. The model represents a machine of 502 ( Ulster ) Squadron Royal Aux Air Force Aldergrove 1956. Painted mostly using Tamiya AS12 decanted into the Airbrush. My thanks go to HK for producing the kit and especially Paul Fisher and Mal Mayfield without their talents I would never have completed this build. Hope you all enjoy. Thanks for looking. Regards Michael
  8. Folks, A few more photos. Not great but I have the grandkids this weekend and no opportunity to take better photos. Regards Michael

  14. Some more photos folks. The base is an old picture frame a friend no longer wanted and the steps, chocs etc came from the WNW Rumpler Kit.

  16. Folks, Please see attached photos of my now completed WNW Bristol Fighter Scale: 1/32 Type: Post War Bristol Fighter Extras used: HGW Seatbelts, RB Rigging and Turn buckles, Elastic flat thread Paints and colours used: Tamiya silver and light grey mix. Tamiya clear orange, Burnt umber oils Other info:Flory Wash I had a bit of a fight with her as I was never going to be happy after dropping the model and the remedial surgery involved. I entered her in the Irish Model Soldier Society Show and was very surprised to come second in 1/32 behind David Parkers Tamiya Mustang. I also won the Air Corps award. Hope you all enjoy. Regards Michael
  17. Sorry folks for no updates. In truth after dropping the model I sort of lost interest and was having to fight a bit with her. It felt like a bit of a loosing battle. The kick in the rear to finish (apart from the cost) was the upcomming Irish Model Soldier Society show. Got her finished and took her to Dublin. To my very pleasant surprise she came second behind David Parkers Tamiya P51. It also won the Air Corps Award. So not bad for something i was going to chuck in the bin. Anyway some photos I will also post a RFI Regards Michael
  18. I think you have captured the look rather well. Great work. Michael
  19. Just a small update After fitting the Lower wing I dropped the model. This resulted in the integral U/C legs shearing off. Fortunately the Post War boxing comes with the original U/C legs. So with a little surgery and stregenthing it is all good again (and hopefully a little stronger). I decided to do the rear fuselage rigging before a replaced the lower wing and below is the result. A little tidying and painting to do but I'm happy with the result. Regards Michael
  20. Got mine on Fruday. Awsome work Paul I'm a very happy man. Thank you. Michael
  21. The wing fuselage join is a bit awkward I didn't completely follow the instructions as I had joined the Wg parts first. So far so good. Michael
  22. Some paint added and a good friend let me borrow Joe and Patricks fantastic book on the Irish Air Corps. It has provided all the information neened to complete this build. Steadly bringing all the parts together ready for assembly and rigging. So the same ammount of time to come. Couldn't resist placing the top wing on fgor a quick look. Photos My rigging options. Regards Michael
  23. I am thoroughly enjoying the build. The last big thing I built was the Tamiya Birdcage Corsair which was great. This time I wanted to try something different and something I have never done before. I picked the Irish scheme again as something different hopefully will work out well. This is my first WNW kit and so far so good. Both Tamiya and WNW are great kits. Michael
  24. Due to knee surgery I have a little more time on my hands. So a bit more work done( I'm blaming) any mistakes on the painkillers. I found an old grainy photo which I believe shows an Irish machine in the 1920's. It is in dope silver and the prop looks like its all wood with a metal LE. This is what I hope to achieve. Hope you enjoy the photos. Regards Michael
