  1. Absolutely stunning mate! The diorama is wonderful! I guess my P-47s are screaming in so your pilot is in a hurry? :wicked:

    ;)

The other idea is great, would love to see you do it. I have had some plans for a diorama as well later on and this just inspires me even more! Really look forward trying my ideas in this scale - and with you as the Dark Master learning me some skills... :please:

(One way or another.. :fight:  Just kidding!)

    Keep it coming!

  2. If my memory serves me correctly, the Lancaster's wingspan is 102" and the B-17 larger at 103".

That should ease the size concerns...

    Tom

    Surely you meant centimeters..?

Gotta have one of these.. I am living in a small-ish, 34m^2 apartment - but I will find a place! Or have it as my cottage outside....

  3. Excellent as always! The weathering seems really good in the ´bays. Can´t wait to see the MGs installed!

Haven´t had a look at those ammo-links but the detail is good I guess.

I am glad you built it with open gun-bays! :)

  4.

This is so incredibly good-looking and more importantly - incredibly useful for me as a reference, trying out this for myself. ;)

I have a lot of stuff to shop now. Loads of parcels for Christmas..

    Can´t wait for the rest..!

  5. Well. You guys have convinced me to give the Hasegawa Jug another look. Scored a P-47M off eBay last night. Already know the plane I'm going to do, too. Just need to figure out how to scale up the nose art.

God I'm such a sucker for the P-47...

Would love to see that - after Spitfires, I cannot even imagine a finer a/c than the mighty Jug. ;) Too bad we probably won´t see that Tamiya-Jug.. :(

  6. Thanks DoogsATX!

I think the Spitfire releases are in large part informing the Corsair releases. Specifically, I suspect maybe the XVI didn't sell as well as the Mk.IX and Mk.VIII. Hence the decision to release the "least popular" Corsair first.

Maybe the market got a bit saturated with big, high-quality Spitfires? On the other hand, I am pretty sure both the Mk. IX & Mk. VIII would be more popular than the Mk. XVI. Reminds me, I should get one ASAP..! I have none in the stash..

But I don't know how much sales drive the decision to do extra versions. I mean, I have to imagine the P-51 sold like gangbusters, but no P-51B/C...

Perhas they are holding on so people can emptying their stashes and get into the P-51-mood again? :) Connected to the sales of the Spitfire Mk. XVI above..?

A P-51b/C makes so much sense following up those Ds and Ks. And personally it is my favourite of them ponies..

I really, really want it to be a Jug, but that doesn't jive with the various rumblings.

Gotta have to agree with you there! But since Hasegawa have their excellent, or so I am told, bubbletop, they are keeping their fingers off it?

A Razorback would fit in perfectly though..

  7. I guess it would help if we actually but the current one, no? The Spitfire Mk. IXc might not have had its brother Mk. VIIIS & XVIs unless we had bought quite a few of the first kit.. :)

I am not too familiar with Tamiya´s release-policy, but they do not announce a year in advance like for example Airfix (in December), do they?

  8. Ah, exciting!

I definetly think a proper North American P-51 B/C/III Mustang would be a good option!

Then others also already mentioned: Bristol Beaufighter, Supermarine Spitfire PR.. XIX, Supermarine Spitfire Vc and/or Vb with Trop.-option (Vokes & Aboukir-filter).

I am not much a a jet-builder, as for now, so do not really now there but I think the British Phantom would be nice to have in the future.. :)
