  1. Thx Peter.

i took at your build and it shure looks real great, i like it alot, and will follow that one for shure ;)

I know the tank on the firewall supposed to be green, but ive seen a pic on one birdie that had one yellow ;), (51D) and liked it since it pops out :D, use some artistic freedom on that, usually do that.

    http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/magazine/2005/12/stuff_eng_detail_p51d_03.htm

Hmmm, now im run in to something, the floor, the floor in the cockpit isnt that supposed to be wood in some areas?, the Tamiya build manual says black, that cant be right?

    if so,

can som tip me how to paint wood, newer done that before :hmmm: ive goot an idea looking at builders that into ww1 birds and got an idea from their builds,

brown different shades o streaks, the oilcolor on top to draw with an old stiff brush to create fibres. have to test on scrap pieces before i go live,....

Also, the variant that im gonna be is P51K (decisions been made during the build) the Mrs Bonnie or some other indevidual ,).

Im gonna paint all the insignias, as usual, i paint all that i can paint ;), (as my previous birds) so cutting masks on this one gonna take lots of effort, ;) but later ;9 im not there yet, so more focus on the bird now :D.

  2. Allright.

There is lots of bits and parts, haha....remembering the brewster from HS :D

English: the chubby bird has finally landed  :D

You should, its a tricky model, bad fit, lots and lots of issues and so on, but hell of a fun build, i loved it, and i also miss it since its done......

I will defenitly do another short run from HS :D perhaps a Fiat G50 1:32 or something, but first got to finnish my P51 and 109K......(they are started builds)

  5. Thx Steve and Anthony :D

I Hope that others that take on this SH Brewster 1:32  model have use of my buildlog and how i solved the issues on this one and be preperaed what lies ahed of their builds ;) and make up their own solutions and ideas on their progress. :D

  6. Thx Peter.

Glad that you like it :D

Sitting and looking at my brewster with critical eyes, is there anything i could do better, yes there is, but not at the moment cause this is how far my skills take me at the moment since my restart ;)

New projects are sighted and new techniques to try and/or improve them that i allready aquired ;), ..

Feedback pros and cons on this finnished build is appreciated ;)

  7. This is my Brewster Buffalo 339C "Dutch" flown by Van Helsdingen Singapore 1941-42.

The kit is Special Hobby 1:32

This model was not easy a easy build, lots and lots of issues, bad fit, but it was truly fun to build, did some scratchwork such as ignition cables on the engine and few control sticks in the cocpit, most of the colors are homebrews using Tamiya Coloior (mixing) for the Camo and the insignias, Alclad and some Vallejo. the landing lights and position lights were all scratch built since the models were not good enough, the whole model were riveted, looked at blueprints and real footage of a crashed Buffalo from a museum so i could place the rivets as close as possible, this is my first try to rivet a whole model, info were very sparse on this aircraft, rest were qualified guessing, think i got pretty close, also my first experience on a short run model, i will for shure build another one.

All the insignias ar painted exept the Rhino and the numbers.

The weathering teqnuice i used was salt, and the washes that i used is Florys Washes.

This is my No:11 since my restart last year (haven't built in 19 years), I keep them numbered in chronological order on planes that I finished since my restart.

    Enjoy,

trying to take photos, still learning.
