Thanks ,
Willi

Very nice work . Looks awesome .What paint did you use for the silver finish?

The past few days I have been working on the Taurus resin engine . It has a lot of detail ,but lots of tiny parts that take a lot of time to put together. Since it`s my first one it took awhile till I found tricks to put it together .
I painted the engine parts in steel
Most of the engine is put together
I gave it a wash to give it a used look .
I added micro copper wire to the spark plugs. It take time to build but should look good in the Fokker EIII. It was fun to build and I`ll do it again . Now that I know what I am doing
Thanks ,
Willi

Cheers.

Very nice , I like this scheme , think I`ll have to get this kit also . If you don`t mind me saying you did not add the radiator braces which are seen on all the pic`s with the cowling off . you can see in the photo below .

Thanks ,
some of the builds were from last year , just improved on some of the parts and checking the models a week before the contest seemed to have helped . I did take my camera but the batteries went dead ! A Big Thanks goes out to Flight 19 for holding the IPMS Contest .
Well this is what I have done today . Still some more trials to go .
Thanks ,
Willi

Here`s the kit I will be using for this build :
I started with the engine .It has many very small parts .I broke 3 of the part #5 so I hope to get replacement for them .
I am still experimenting with bare metal foil for the jeweling of the metal . I have a few more bits to try with the dremel tool . I will post some photo`s as soon as I have my results .

Hi Everyone,
The Fokker Scourge was the period of the ascendancy of the Fokker Eindecker monoplane fighter aircraft of the Imperial German Fliegertruppen.
My daughter got me the WNW Fokker Eindecker for Christmas . So this is the next kit I`will be doing. I have the awesome Taurus engine and sparkplugs .Many thanks to Mr Lukasz. I`m hoping to start building next week .
Thanks ,

This is really great Willi!
I love this bold color scheme and the workmanship is lovely.
I particularly love how nicely you lined up the "diamond" decals on the side of the fuselage with the top. The transition up the side, over the top, and down the other side is seamless.
The decals are great , just have to do it one at a time and let the decal dry before moving on to the next one . .The top first then with luck the rest falls in place . I did have to use some black paint in a few spots ,but nothing that would stand out much . Make sure there`s a good coat of gloss before decaling or you will see silvering over the clear areas ! Getting the yellow to match up was the biggest challenge!
-
Thanks Markus and Paul,
I am happy with the way it turned out . There are a few tiny flaws ,but nothing big it`s just what I can see . I`m hoping the Fokker will do well in a model contest next weekend .
Thanks ,Willi

Hi Willi, yes I realize the valve stems should be there but I cut mine down in length to allow the rocker arms to sit more naturally. You definitely don't want to cut them off.
Thanks for your input, it's always appreciated!
Cheers,
Wolf
Hi Wolf,
Yes I built mine with the engine already built ! Whats important is to make sure the valve springs are at a slight angle .I made the mistake of cutting all the kit ones off and mounted mine at wrong angle! was a duff redo . The next one will be easy now that I know what I`m doing .
I wish they would have done decals for the Fokker you did in 1/48th on Hyperscale . I ogled over that Fokker for years and still have it on my fav. on the computer.
