  1. The Hasegawa kit provides 2 options for the under wing panels (F-2 & F-3 or G-1 & G-2) and I was wondering which is corect.. or more correct? Thanks! Gary V.
  2. Hi Jamie, Great build! May I ask what material you used for the seat belts? I think convincing seatbelts are really the touch of realism most kits need... so far I have not convinced myself with my work! Your seatbelts (as well as the rest of your build) look fantastic! Gary V.
  3. Does anyone know if dark dull green is the "correct" color for the p-47 cockpit? Is there a close enough match in the Model Master enamel paint line? Thanks! Gary V.
  4. Thanks for all the help! I noticed in Chris' picture that there is no dorsal fillet. The superscale sheet I have for BABII shows a dorsal fillet. Does anyone have any thoughts on this matter? Thanks again! Gary
  5. Thanks everyone! The "cuffed" prop it is then. I have the 1st issue of the Hasegawa P-47. So I hope I have the right plane for this scheme! Thanks again! Gary V.
  6. Thanks Chris and Tim! The props in the kit look the same to me except one has "cuffs". Are either of the props correct or do I need a replacement? Just a little more assistance please? Thanks again guys! Gary V.
  7. I need some help regarding the wheels and prop. As in, wheels: spoked or smooth; prop: cuffed or uncuffed. Anyone? Thanks! Gary V.
  8. Ironwing, Your conversion looks great! I am interested in seeing the work on the ELE, so PLEASE post pictures when you get there! Also, you mentioned correcting the top of the D nose because the B is different. Is he top of the cowl on the Revell kit correct, and can it be used on the Hasegawa nose? Or is reshaping it with putty the better option (you see where I'm going with this... I'm a really challenged builder. The less of my own work the better!) Anyway, again, great work! Post more when you can! Gary
  9. I know they can be ordered directly, if I recall correctly. I just have such a lack of faith and luck when it comes to international shipping. And sometimes in domestic shipping also. Thanks! Gary V.
  10. I hope you remember! I had mentioned my intention to builg the Hasegawa P-47 in the markings of BAB. I mentioned I had the Mircoscale decal set. You said there was a manfacturer out there that makes a more accurate set. I don't recall the name now. Anyway, do you know what the differences are in the decal sets? Or where I can get a profile of BAB? Thanks! Gary V.
  11. Hi Mike, PCM is Pacific Coast Models correct? If so, do you think they would sell a set (actally 2) of wheels? I'll try to find their contact info. If anyone at LSP "knows" someone at PCM I should put a message out to, I sure would appreciate it!!! Thanks Mike and the rest of you guys too! Gary V.
  12. Has anyone found a suitible replacement for the kit wheels? My 202 has been collecting dust while wait to be put up on her feet! Thanks! Gary
  13. Hi Jeff, I bought the Voyager barrels at Brookhurst Hobbies in Garden Grove, CA. The Voyager barrels look really nice and they come with a couple of rounds to boot. They cost me about $27.00 They are made in Japan by the way. I think quite a few places may carry them so it shouldn't be too tough to find them. Gary V.
  14. Ron, Nice progress on the Tony! I agree with Copperhead about your very nice collection! Although, I hope you can provide more pictures of your collection when you get your hobby room together! You lucky guy! Gary V. Again, very nice work on everything in your photos! Thanks for sharing!
  15. Look familiar? Hope this helps... Well, the obvious solution is to go out and buy the zero kits and compare them part for part. A less expensive way, if you have one already, would be to find another modeler in your area who may have the other kits and the both of you arrange to meet and compare the kits, part for part. The least expensive solution is to ask on the various forums, like this. But, until a person physically compares the zero kits it is unlikely that we will know. Have you asked the guys in your nearby IPMS chapter if they have the two different kits so you can get everyone together and actually compare the kits?
  16. I was wondering if the only plastic difference in these kits were the cowls (and decals of course)? All replies appreciated! Thanks again for your patience! Gary V.
  17. Thanks! You guys rock! Now... which one did George Bush fly? Thanks again! Gary
  18. I know one is the TBM and one is the TBF but what are the differences in the models or can one be built as the other? I hope that made sense Thanks for any input! Gary V.
  19. Hi! I'm no expert, but here's what looks different to me, from your model and Mr Metz' photo of the real thing: 1) The scoop behind the canopy on the model looks shorter or smaller. 2) The main gear doors look different. 3) the nose wheel on the model looks smaller than the real thing. I bought the model at the nationals, I saw the built model at the nationals and I was just dumbstruck a company finally did one! I think your model looks great! I will build mine out of the box (one day), with the same markings as yours (unless something cooler comes out) and I hope it looks as nice as yours! Great job so far (You're almost finished!) keep it up and post more pics! Gary
  20. I'll give that a try! Thanks for the info! Gary
  21. Steven's International told me "sorry" they won"t replace a part from a kit that wasn't purchased at a hobby store. Thanks anyway, I do appreciate the response. Gary
  22. Yes please AMS (Harold) I have a request also! My F-100 canopy os cracked right down the center! I received it this way. I need a new one! Do you cast clear resin? Gary Redondo Beach, CA
  23. Hey Chris! Did BAB II NOT have invasion stripes on the wings? The picture you posted above looks like she did not have any on the wings. Gary V.
  24. Thanks Chris! That's very good news... although now I wll check Eagle Editions....
