  1. With the Piper Cubs that were put out from RoG, does anyone besides me wish they would continued with some Cesnas? I would especially like to see the pusher/puller Skymaster! I think it would make sense to do Cessnas and it would also be pretty cool! I also hope someone re-releases the Beechcraft again. I never knew that existed until someone here brought it up! Gary
  2. Maybe this could be a Co-op buy like the others ... we can buy in bilk and get a discount???
  3. I have heard (I think here) of someone using the spine from the Revell Razorback and grafting it to the Hasegawa kit. I think a resin pattern maker (nudge to Mr. Rutman) would do well to make a spine and windscreen/canopy conversion for the Hasegawa kit. Does anyone else think it would sell? It seems to me it may be easier than cuting up the Revell kit AND the Hasegawa kit. Just a thought.. Gary V.
  4. Available at Hannants ... anyone know when it will be in the U.S.? It is listed at Hannants for 49pounds.. is that roughly $100 in the U.S.? Gary V.
  5. I have a Revell MK1 Spitfire and I was wondering if any companies made resin replacements for the wheels? Thanks! Gary V.
  6. That's exactly what I'm talking about Chris! I had thought to myself, "how did I miss a part that big?!?" Thanks! Too late to correct it on this one but I have 2 more! By the way, how would you fix that? Filling it with plastic sheet doesn't seem the right way to go.. or would it???? Thanks again everyone! Gary
  7. Hello, My marathon build (I build slow, not superdetailed) of the P-47 continues. As I was prepping to primer the plane, I inserted the open tail wheel assembly into (the part with the doors molded open and to my surprise the rear of the tail wheel "box" does not fill the entire area. Aft of the box, there is quite a large, unfilled space. Is this correct or have I somehow missed a part? I reread the instructions and it does not appear to be so. Can anyone tell me if this is correct? Thanks! Gary V.
  8. Wait! AMS makes intakes for the Tamiya Phantoms?!? I just checked his site and I did not see them.. are they out of production? Gary V.
  9. I was curious about the old Monogram P-51 and how it holds up to the Hasegawa and Dragon P-51's? I know the Hasegawa and Dragon P-51's have some issues that have been gone over and over and over.. but is the Monogram offering worse? I don't recall actually seeing one built but I see them for sale on ebay fairly cheap at times. I know it must be "old tool" tech.. but how about the shape? Thanks Gary V.
  10. Yes, I am a really slow modeler (lazy doesn't help either) and masking canopies has really been one of my least favorite things to do in the last few years.. So, does a canopy mask for the Hasagawa kit exist? (I checked Roll Models and didn't see any) Thanks for any help in advance! Gary V.
  11. Hi Erik, I have 3 (well ... now 2) of the ST27 kit. They have the Gabreski/Eagleston decals. Do you need anything from this version? I can also send some $'s! Let me know what you're looking for! PM me here or email me at ryuka3@msn.com Thanks foe your help! Gary V.
  12. Thanks for the info TimC! I Have the Microscale decals and they don't show thne top of the cowl. So... if anyone out there has the Hasegawa BABII decals.. could you help me out and scan the sheet or at least just the "pointy red decals" so I can use them as a mask? I'm trying to get this model done before it celebrates the 1 year anniversary from the date I started it!!! Thanks again Gary V. Redondo Beach
  13. if the red cowl markings (particularly the red pointy parts) are decals or do the instructions give you a painting guide? The reason I ask if the red cowl markings are decals is because I am planning to paint mine on and I would like a 1:1 scan of the decal sheet so I can use the scan as a guide for masking. I hope this makes sense and thanks! Gary V. my email: ryuka3@msn.com
  14. Hi Dave/Ironman, 1st: Your P-38 looks great! I just wanted to be sure about one thing with the Rub n Buff... does it really clean up with hot water and soap?!? I bought a tube and it mentions what to clean it with on the back.. not that I am doubting you, it is me not wanting to buy anything I don't/won't need! I get cheaper as I get older! Thanks! Gary V.
  15. Who is Ken Lasala and where can we find out how much shipping is? I just saw one for $50 including shipping in the U.S. and I almost bit! Ken's price sounds pretty good! Please let me (us) know! Gary V.
  16. Hi Tench! WOW that was fast!! I do want to use the kit prop decals since their in the "box" and your answer was what I was looking for ! Thanks for your super fast response and I hope you and the LSPer's out there have a great holiday season! Gary V.
  17. Still working on my Hasegawa 1/32 P-47. I have the 1st boxing of this kit that didn't have the asymetrical prop. Someone was kind enough to send me their prop from the Trumpeter kit (Thanks Kagnew!) Anyway, I was wondering if I could use the prop decals from the "original" boxing of the Hasegawa kit for the asymetrical prop and if so, should I use the oval prop decals or the round prop decals? Thanks for the help once again! Gary V.
  18. I hate to be the one to tell you this now that it looks like you're almost finished.. but there's already an F-18 on your six o'clock in one of your photos... such a shame to see such a nice plane blown up before you finish! Great job! Gary V.
  19. Anyone know if the filler cap on the pancake droptank is colored, like red or something? Or would it be about the same color as the rest of the droptank? Come to think of it, should I paint the droptank neutral gray or should it be natural metal? I'm leaning torward natural metal with some dings and dents.. Another question is is there structural ribbing in the tank? I think it would make for an interesting effect... Thanks! All input appreciated! Gary V.
  20. Thanks everyone! Chris I assume this is the bottom of the cowl and you filled any seams on the sides that the shim created? I wish I had read this yesterday! I was fooling around with the cowl yesterday and the brand new x-acto blade slipped. I stabbed myself pretty good in my left pinky finger. It was still light out here so I couldn't use the excessive amount of blood to good halloween effect!
  21. Does anyone have an opinion on how to address the step at the bottom? From my own test fitting, it appears the cowl assembly needs to be raised. Would you simply sand/file the bottom of the male plug for the engine/cowl assembly or is there a tried and true method anyone can share? Thanks! Gary V.
  22. Thanks Ron! I wish I had thought about putting the cowl together first! I'll take that advice on P-47 #2! I hadn't heard about the wing fit problem but I will take that advice too! Thanks for your help! You too, Chris! I'll post pictures when my son teaches me! My lameness knows no boundries! Thanks again, Gary V.
  23. Thanks Chris! I haven't painted the interior fuselage yet and was hoping for your answer! That darn cowl is going to kill me! I used that MM enamel Euro green II (I think) for the cockpit... wow is that dark! The other pieces so far wee painted black and then highly thinned interior yellow... they turn a little greener than I wanted but not bad. The black gives the yellow natural shading too! I am thinking of cutting up the instument panel deacls and using then in the dials... but it's a nice IP I may drybrush it and add white glue lenses. What did you do? I will be using the closed canopy on this build and the open for the next. I hope Hasegawa comes out with a Razorback version. I did my old Revell Razorback in Big Stud markings. I would like to do that again with a much better kit! Thanks again, Gary
  24. Hi all, Starting to pick up the pace on my BAB II build. I have a question about the painting of the fuselage interior parts. The instructions show that you should paint almost the entire insides of the fuselage halves. Is this necessary? It shows you should paint the wing spars too. I did and I don't think they are visable when it is all put together. Am I assuming correctly? Right now I am working on the cowling... oh man! I hope I get it right! It is really a chore. Any tips for this? Also, has everyone encounter the "step" qt the bottom of the cowl? I have heard mixed results? I hope the cowl will be the hard part and the rest a little smoother. Thanks! Gary V.
  25. Thanks Tim & Chris! Chris & Tim I am going to attempt to do my BABII like the photo you posted a while back (no fillet). Do you think BABII had invasion stripes wrapped around the wings or just on the bottom of the wings? Thanks again guys! Gary V.
