bsarnoffca
Thanks everyone for your nice comments. The instrument panel was very easy. I purchased the Contact Resine detail kit which is an excellent addition for the Azur kit. I placed the their decal over the kit instrument panel using Micro Set and Sol then placed the painted Contact Resine photo-etch instrument panel on the kit piece gluing it with 2 part epoxy so I could move it around a bit to line everything up. After it was dry I put a drop of the same epoxy over each dial. It's very thick, dries clear and looks more like a dial face than Future.
gustave venelt
Good method, I won't have an excuse if I mess up the next time!!
bsarnoffca
Here's the inerior and engine mocked up. The engine frame may have been Chamois but from photos they all appeared to have a darker overspray.
bsarnoffca
I couldn't get a very good close up of the "lantern" gunsight so it's difficult to see the detail. Like Chris S., after checking the the kit and Contact Resine gunsight I decided to make my own.
Erwin
Great work !! It makes me jealous to see how the fine detail is made.
gustave venelt
That looks great!! Your "Lantern" is looking just right. That engine must have taken a fair share of test fitting.....great work! Will you close the fuselage with the engine inside?
bsarnoffca
Thanks everyone for the nice comments. The engine was alott of work. It started life looking like this.
bsarnoffca
...then after turning it upside down, moving around and building components. It looks sort of like this, which is how I plan to display it in the model. One side open the other closed.

bsarnoffca
Gustave, Thanks for the positive comments. A nice resin rudder came with the Contact Resine detail kit so I'm okay there but I appreciate the offer.
bsarnoffca
Here are some more pics of the Azur D520....moving slowly. The luggage compartment door will be open so I added some detail behind the cockpit though much of it won't be visible on the finished model. Gustave, how is your model coming along?
