tanghao
I’m currently making an A-10 engine. I have a question. Is there a cover for the TF-34 engine in the area where the red line is drawn on my map?
Ben Brown
Yes, there is a cover that normally goes over that area. I couldn't find any photos of the engine with it installed because it's probably one of the first things they remove when they open the cowling, but it's mostly visible at 4:03 in this video: LINK Ben Whitey
tanghao
Yes, I found two photos that do have that cover, but they are marked with A-10C like the video. I am wondering whether A-10A has that cover.
Ben Brown
Yes, the A-10A would have that cover, too. All A-10s use the same GE TF-34 engine. Ben
Winnie
The trumpeter kit has the "eggshell" for the bypass section of the engine, could modify and use that?
tanghao
Yes, the trumpeter models have transparent shells, but their shape is not accurate. The shells of real airplanes are opaque. Unable to show internal structure. In fact, all the engines will remove the shell when they are turned on.
