Brianer Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Ballard, Jack S., Development and Employment of Fixed-Wing Gunships, 1962-1972 (Washington, DC: Office of Air Force History) 1982 I think this is the tome BobMDC mentioned. It is quite dry and the images are not detailed, but would give a sense of the mounting and the timeline for equipment and deployment of the original Spookys to SEA. Haas, Michael E., Col, USAF, Retired, Apollo's Warriors: United States Air Force Special Operations during the Cold War (Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama: Air University Press) 1997. This is a paperback book from the AU Press that has a single picture of a row of the later pods from inside the cabin. Haas is an advisor to the the Center for the Study of the Vietnam Conflict at Texas Tech. The Air Commando Association in Mary Esther, FL might also have some information if you contact them.
