Just finished the Hasegawa Spitfire Vb

From mast to rudder, no; the HF wire was largely deleted before the end of 1940, and replaced by a shorter VHF aerial built into the mast. This holds true for the U.K., and the mediterranean, but it's possible that the Russians retained it, since there are photos of Mk.IXs with the wire in place.

However, the Vb is likely to have the pair of I.F.F. wires, running from the fuselage, just aft of the radio compartment, to the outer extremities of the tailplanes; these were first fitted around the end of 1940. If you're working with the Hasegawa kit, there are (or were, when the mould was new) a pair of tiny "pips," on the fuselage, where the wires emerge.

Note that aerial wires were stainless steel, too, so should not be black.
