maverick728470
This will be a HE-219 V-5 "UHU" as to what I got off Google. The first prototype 219's were assigned the V types until the production model of the owl was to put into service around 1943. Some early model 219's that were a V version were painted in the Nightfighter paint schemes. Mine is for the V-5 version that has a four bladed prop as to the later versions with the three bladed ones later on. Used the following to get started on this project: - Prop blades from the 109 new tool kits. - Resin spinner that I got from Dave Robbins. - Scratchbuilt the main gear legs. - Nose strut is from the 335 kit as to the first release of the kit from combat. - Added Jerry Rutman cockpit resin detail set. - Wheels and tires as to the plans are from the JU-88 Pro-Modeler kit. They fit the plans just right. - The twin rudders are made of bondo as to the plans from the kit. - Used the resin cowls from jerry rutmans detail set. Waiting for replacement canopy from Combat Models since the one I thought I could use had yellowed very badly. Larry
