bcauchi
Hi Guys, I finally took the photos of the last 109 of the three which I built. Hope you guys like it. It is the old revell kit or what's left of it.
bcauchi
That was the WINGZ all resin Luftwaffe oil cart. A really nice addition to any base. I had tons of fun building that thing. Could do with some better instructions but I finally got the hang of it.
bcauchi
Starting with the fuselage, only the central part was retained from the original kit. The tail is a Hasegawa tail including the tailplanes and it was mated onto the old revell fuselage.
bcauchi
The nose section was cut off from just forward of the cockpit and the Aires detail set fitten instead. The canopy is a mix. The forward section is from a new revell kit of the G4Trop, the centre section is the excellently brilliant photoetched offering from Radu. bcauchi
After using Radu's magnificent canopy, I just had to do something to the rear part so this was scratchbuilt, it is just like the real thing, a frame and a heat formed clear part stuck to it. The two figures in the previous pic are from Nemrod, a pilot, the ammo box and the chief mechanic.
bcauchi
The typical luftwaffe jack you see in the previous photo is scratchbuilt from photos where this was apparently very commonly used. The cockpit is also Aires.
bcauchi
The spinner, external tank and tank carrier are from MDC.
bcauchi
The two mechanics contemplating the wheel change are generic mechanics in 35th scale from some armour company. I think they are ok.
johng
You saved the best for last, Brian. Beautiful work.
bcauchi
The wings are from the original old revell kit, very heavily reworked to the proper dimentions and shape. The wheel wells were entirely scratchbuilt. The split flaps and ailerons were also scratchbuilt.
bcauchi
All markings have been painted on using montex masks except for the 7, eyes and unit markings on the cowls, they are decals. The 7's were in fact whiter in the actual photos since they were freshly painted at a later date.
bcauchi
The wheels of all the three 109's are from true details.
