  1. I built White 21 a few years ago. Note the old style big wheels. If you are considering building this, I am attaching my article with a reference photo. Happy modelling https://www.largescaleplanes.com/articles/article.php?aid=3627
  2. Some progress; It was painted entirely in black primer. I used Tamiya's black acrylic. It needs some rest before Alclad. I will left it fallow for about a week
  3. Finally the painting has started The first step is the lower surfaces. They were painted with Gunze acrylic RLM65.
  4. I will change Gunsight. As seen in the picture, RAK Mk.II gunsight was used in this Mustang, as in many European Theater P-51s. I'll refer to my spare box for this. The strongest candidate is a resin piece from the set of Barracudacast.
  5. I started working on the cockpit to move on to the fuselage. Aires cockpit is ready for painting
  6. Today's update: This is one of the most problematic parts of Trumpy's kit. As seen in the pictures, the area between the windows behind the cockpit is very wide. It is obvious that this is not the job of Trumpy's A team. Aerocraft released a clear resin kit a few years ago for this problem. It looks like it will work. The necessary parts of the fuselage were cut. Test fitting looks good. I keep moving forward, hoping I don't run into Murphy.
  7. Some progress I decided to build this model with the flaps down. However, this requires some modifications in the fuselage. I made these areas with plastic sheet and putty
  8. Thanks a lot Wayne, appreciated After I retire, I'm trying to finish the models on my bucket list, of course, trying not to compromise on quality.
  9. Well, The canopy mask has arrived. And I used it. Windscreen painted and installed. Emil is ready to be painted.
  10. I started working on the fuselage. I made the exhaust slots more reasonable by using thin plastic sheet. I will use Aerocraft's exhausts instead of Trumpy's crappy ones
  11. Yes, Vector's set is great. I built one before with the Vector set. However, I left the wheel well as it was.
  12. What you wrote encourages me to use the other set I have in the P-51A project. It is possible that I will bring this to my agenda as well. Thanks
  13. Some progress on the wings The incorrectly positioned landing light that Antonio mentioned bothers me. I will have to fix it
